SBD Bob Dylan In Concert source: Unreleased CBS album -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tracks: Disc one Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie * Lay Down Your Weary Tune Dusty Old Fairgrounds * John Brown * When the Ship Comes In Who Killed Davy Moore? Percy's Song Bob Dylan's New Orleans Rag * Seven Curses -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Review: The material presented here is an absolute must-have to any collection. It has been available for many years, but this package blows away every release that has come before. This is the one to own. CBS was planing this release during the 1963-64 Christmas season, and it went as far as being pressed to acetate. It has long been rumored that the LP cover was completed as well, and this CD purports to be a reproduction of it. It is a beautiful cover, and leaves little doubt to it's authenticity. The thorn seems to have been the rambling 6½ minute prose "Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie". A song missing from Carnegie is Talkin' John Birch. It, along with this version of Who Killed Davy Moore? was released on the official CBS release Bootleg Series Vol 1-3. The recording has been filtered and EQ'd for this release, and the result is near perfection. The overall aesthetics, quality, and material of this package make it one of the best CD boots ever produced. The Colessum version has a slightly nicer disc, as all songs are listed with a one word title. Learn more about the planned CBS release at Searching For A Gem Acetate of the unreleased CBS LP "In Concert" Carnegie Hall - October 26, 1963 Except: * NYC Town Hall - April 12, 1963

It includes half of the May 18th show. The songs have been edited out of proper performance order. All songs are soundboard recordings, however, they bear the short-comings of the analog technology of a quarter-century ago. These are the 11 known mono soundboard recordings that circulate among tape traders. The entire 23 song Dylan portion of the show is available as an audience recording, but in nowhere near as good of a quality. Definitely worth your time and investment if you're a fan of the 'Rolling Thunder' era. SBD Bob Dylan Solid Rock Toronto, 1980 Manufacturer / Catalog No. Wanted Man / WMM 005/006 Released: 1989 Quality: 9½ stars (10 stars first 3 songs) CDA>WAVELAB>FLAC Disc one Gotta Serve Somebody Covenant Woman * When You Gonna Wake Up I Believe in You When He Returns (Dylan on piano) Ain't Gonna Go To Hell Cover Down Break Through Man Gave Names to All the Animals Precious Angel (intro cut) Slow Train Coming Disc two Do Right to Me Baby Rap Solid Rock Saving Grace Saved What Can I Do for You? In the Garden Are You Ready? Pressing On Review: This set presents a great soundboard recording of the entire April 20 Dylan portion of the show. It was recorded directly from a professionally shot video of the performance. There are several between song edits. Some are professional fades, some are hard cuts. The quality throughout varies only slightly. Most of the tape has been EQ'd to lessen the slight tape hiss. This leaves some tracks, however, without the crisp high end punch. The package is a minimal front and back insert. The only photo is the front, which was taken from a bad condition concert photo. There is no information included other than track listing. For the sake of confusion, there's a recording of the previous night entitled "Rock Solid". Information: source: Massey Theatre, Toronto, ON April 20, 1980 * Massey Theatre April 19, 1980 Performance: Dylan was on a 'high' for the 5 show Massey Theatre residency of 1980. The gospel tour had just taken a two month break to catch their breath. During this hiatus Dylan recorded the Saved album at Muscle Shoals, performed at the Grammy Award show, and recorded with Keith Green on his So You Wanna Go Back To Egypt LP. The band was refreshed, and excited about the concert being recorded and filmed. Dylan delivers a power house performance. If you are a fan of the christian material, this is not to be missed. If you love to hear Dylan pouring his heart and soul into the show... this is the one.

The show was in 1987 in Irvine, CA in support of "Perfect Strangers". I saw this tour in 1985 in Hollywood, Florida and I still it was the best Rock concert I have ever been to. Some songs appear to be missing from this tour on this date so I added them to fill out the show. This is a terrific show and and excellent sounding SBD. Mediterranean (Studio, mid 1970s) Greensleeves (NYC 5-16-74) Dead Man, Acoustic Theme (promo, 1995) Liner Notes These eighty two songs were compiled to give Neil Young fans an insight into the artist’s incredible unreleased catalog. Released or unreleased, that is the question. The answers are not as simple as they would seem. I have included in here a few songs that have actually been sold in stores at one time or another. But none that have been released on albums, except for one song that was released on another artist’s box set. I didn’t include a couple of recently released singles, Don’t Spook The Horse and Interstate. I’m pretty sure they are still available. In any case, Interstate was actually on the Broken Arrow album on the vinyl release. I received an enormous amount of help collecting these tunes. First, I want to thank Steve Peck and everyone responsible for the original ABD collection. Mine is merely an update to what they put together five years ago; that compilation was the inspiration for this project. Several people dipped way into their music collections to help out. Especially helpful were: Kerry McVeigh Braden Strickler Bill Hodgson Mike Kelsey Chuck King Shawn McCorkle Also, I used Tom Hambleton’s Sugar Mountain web site and Pete Long’s book Ghosts On The Road extensively as references for dates of performances. Special thanks to Shawn McCorkle who was able to identify the version of Doghouse here based on Neil’s spiel before the tune. Many more too numerous to list here offered suggestions and assistance. I thank you all! A note about titles. Since, except for the covers, as these songs are unreleased there is no 100 percent sure way to know the correct titles. I tried to use the most commonly used titles for all the songs included. When available I used Pete Long’s Ghosts On The Road as a reference. Disc One: 01. Born To Run: Neil. The Horse. Feedback. 02. Forever Young: Neil’s performance with The Grateful Dead at the Bill Graham tribute. 03. Bad Fog Of Loneliness: An outtake from the original Tonight’s The Night acetate. This tune was also played several times in 1970 and in 1989 with The Restless. 04. It Might Have Been: There are several very nice performances of this tune with the Harvesters in ‘84. This performance is from 1970 with the Danny Whitten Crazy Horse, featuring Jack Nitzsche on electric piano. The tune was also a favorite from the Squires days. Writer: unknown. 05. Everybody’s Alone: KQED studios performance. 06. War Song: An out-of-print single billed as Neil Young/Graham Nash. 07. Johnny: A studio-recorded tune heavily laden with synthesizers and a drum machine. It was played over the PA after several Shocking Pinks shows. 08. Goodbye Dick: This would have been great on the soundtrack to the movie Dick. Sorry the sound quality is so poor; I couldn’t find anything better. 09. Pushed It Over The End: Another song about Patty Hearst? Neil introduces this song during the Bottom Line performance as “Citizen Kane Junior Blues.” 10. Everything Is Broken: Another Dylan cover. This time with Tom Petty and Sammy Hagar to kick off Bridge ‘89. 11. Ordinary People: a fan favorite, though only performed a couple of dozen times. 12. Farmers’ Song: The latest in a series of versions that date back to Farm Aid ‘86. 13. Berlin: A one-off performance with The Trans Band. 14. Nothing Is Perfect: a song that was debuted at Live Aid. 15. Come Along And Say You Will: Played quite a few times with the Stray Gators during the ‘73 tour. Sometimes called Lonely Weekend. Disc Two: 01. If You Got Love: a live version of the tune listed on everyone’s vinyl cover sleave for Trans but not on the album. 02. Sweet Joni: a one-time performance. 03. There Goes My Babe: A solo acoustic demo recorded in the Buffalo Springfield era. 04. Dance, Dance, Dance: often performed ‘70 to ‘99 but never released. Crazy Horse (minus Neil) did release their own version on their self-titled album. 05. Soul Of A Woman: Neil performed this one over 150 times, all in the ‘80s with the Trans band, the International Harvesters, and the Bluenotes. There are some excellent versions of all of those. Here’s a solo version from the Shocking Pinks tour that I’m kind of partial to. 06. Your Love: Somewhere between the Shocking Pinks and the International Harvesters, Neil had a go with the Horse. They played a few gigs in Santa Cruz at the Catalyst Club where the Ducks played. There were several new tunes introduced, some of which eventually showed up on Landing On Water. Here’s another. 07. Do You Wanna Dance?: Fun with the Pinks. This is Vito Toledo, signing off. 08. Hello Lonely Woman: a song dating way back to the Squires days, revived during the Bluenotes tour. 09. Lady Wingshot: Originally performed with the Gone With The Wind Orchestra in ‘77; this is from a much later performance. The show is the one in Eureka, California right after Neil lost his dog Elvis. 10. Fool For Your Love: Bluenotes version of the blues. 11. Aurora: along with The Sultan, the earliest recording in this collection. 12. Live To Ride: Rocker performed exclusively in 1993 with Booker T. and the MG’s. 13. Big Room: Bluenotes! 14. So Tired: Another one from the early ‘84 Crazy Horze Catalyst shows. 15. Grey Riders: Think the International Harvesters couldn’t rock? Try this tune out. This was a show closer during the late summer ‘85 tour. 16. Rock, Rock, Rock: A mid-80’s minor anthem about, ahem, Rock. More from the early ‘84 experiments with Crazy Horse. 17. Bright Sunny Day: This was almost left off because the recording is so poor. You get some idea of what the tune must have sounded like though, I think. 18. Leavin’ The Top Forty Behind: Happy birthday. If the melody sounds familiar, compare with “The Emperor Of Wyoming” on the first solo record. 19. I Ain’t Got The Blues: demo at Electra records by a very young, very nervous Neil. Disc Three: 01. Love Hotel: Performed only once in front of an audience, this is it. Not the best recording, but a nice little ditty. 02. Kansas: This song dates back to the mid-1970’s. It was never played live until 1999. Neil referred to it once early in the ‘99 tour while looking up something else in his lyrics book he carried. Someone asked him to play Kansas and he performed it a few times later in the tour. 03. Homefires: Another tune dating from the mid 70’s, here’s a performance from the ‘92 solo tour. Neil said in 1997 that this song doesn’t apply anymore. 04. Love Art Blues: CSN provide some nice harmonies for this tune Neil wrote about being torn between his music life and his personal life. 05. Separate Ways: Yet another tune from the mid 70’s, this one not heard by the public until the ‘93 tour with Booker T. and the MG’s. Pretty sad song really, kind of a companion tune to Already One in my mind. 06. Crime Of The Heart: Listen for the reference to the Cindy Lauper song, Girl’s Just Want To Have Fun. One of the songs that would make a live Bluenotes record special. 07. Bad News: This song really captures what the energy and soul of the Bluenotes. If you’ve seen the “This Note’s For You” video, a snippet of this song is in it. 08. Stranger In Paradise: A cover of a classic show tune, played at one of the Bridge School Benefits. 09. Run Around Babe: Early Neil. 10. Find Another Shoulder: Early Neil, but played by the Bluenotes in ‘88. I think this one dates back to the Squires days. 11. Your Love Again: One of the many tunes recorded for the Old Ways album. This one didn’t quite make it out to the public, at least not to your major record stores. 12. Guilty Train: Not really a complete song, just a snippet that was played at the end of “Old Laughing Lady” during the ‘76 tour and on some later tours as well. 13. Dog House: A novelty tune. Kinda humorous. You be the judge. 14. Windward Passage: Instrumental tune played with the Ducks in ‘77. 15. No One Seems To Know: Still another mid-70’s tune, played live in ‘76. This one is from early ‘83 though. 16. Extra Extra: One of the better tunes from the Electra demos. 17. Give Me Strength: Yep, another one from the mid-70s, this one actually from a performance in ‘76. 18. Walking After Midnight: Played only once, I think. One of the many Bluenotes tunes found in this collection. In fact, if you took all the Bluenotes tunes contained herein and compiled them together, you would have one heck of an album. Disc Four: 01. Raining In Paradise: Positive uplifting theme; finding the rainbow in the rain after chasing the sun “half way around the world.” This outtake has been circulating for years. 02. Amber Jean: Let’s see, you have My Boy about Zeke, Transformer Man about Ben; here’s one for Amber Jean. 03. Hawaiian Sunrise: Catchy little CSNY tune from the ‘74 tour. 04. One More Sign: Early Studio Demo. 05. Winter Winds/Turbine: The Hawks And Doves band played once. They included a few previously released tunes, some songs from the upcoming album and this song which was never played again or released. 06. Hillbilly Band: Here’s one that captures the spirit and fun of attending a live performance by the International Harvesters. 07. Modern World: Introduced with this performance. This tune was played a few times during the H.O.R.D.E. tour of 1997 but not since. 08. Road Of Plenty: An early version of Eldorado; the first half of this has completely different lyrics than the song that was eventually released. 09. Beautiful Bluebird: Another outtake from the Old Ways sessions, nice country tune. 10. High Heels: Neil attended a mini-reunion and played some tunes with his old Squire buddies in 1987. He started remembering some of the tunes they used to play and put some of them in setlists with the Bluenotes later that year. This is one of them. 11. I Shall Be Released: Dylan cover played at the finale of night one of Bridge ‘99. Nice duet with Eddie Vedder. 12. That’s All Right: Here’s one that the King recorded a couple of years ago in 1955... 13. Sultan: Along with Aurora, the earliest track in this set. Seventeen year old Neil Young doing an instrumental with his band The Squires. 14. The Rent Is Always Due: another demo from the Electra sessions. 15. Hitchhiker: One of the more autobiographical of Neil’s songs. Chronicles some of Neil’s experiences with pharmaceuticals. 16. Time Off For Good Behavior: More autobiography; Neil’s brother Bob goes to jail... Disc Five: 01. Sixty To Zero: All 19 minutes of it; this is the complete song. It’s amazing Neil had this one memorized. No wonder he shortened it into Crime In The City. There are some pretty interesting verses here though. I feel bad for the guy who now has no ears..... 02. Box Car: Train song original with the Restless. 03. Traces: From the original Tonight’s The Night acetate. This one was also played during the 1974 CSNY tour. 04. Sad Movies: Picture show tune. A favorite, played early in ‘76. 05. I’m Goin’: A studio version of this was released on the b side of the Ten Men Working single. It’s rare enough that it was included here. 06. I Wonder Why: This one has never been played live. A very private song about the challenges of raising a handicapped child. 07. Don’t Pity Me, Babe: Early demo. 08. Sittin’ On The Dock Of The Bay: Written by Otis Redding and Steve Cropper (who plays guitar on the original and here), this song was released on Booker T. & The MG’s boxed set, but isn’t in Neil’s catalog yet. 09. Evening Coconut: A bright moment from the Stills/Young tour of ‘76 before Neil quit the tour.... 10. Fingers: Throwaway/novelty tune; kind of entertaining and humorous though. 11. I Wonder: Let’s say you are one of Rassy Young’s friends in 1964. You listen to her on the phone talking about her son Neil and his musical combo, the Squires. And she plays a tape of one of their songs on the phone. This is what it would sound like. Recently uncovered from a basement, I’m expecting a clean version of this in the box set. 12. Mediterranean: Stills was in the studio with Neil when he recorded this extremely rare solo acoustic tune. 13. Greensleeves: There is a released version of Greensleeves with Neil singing lead on Ben Keith’s Christmas album Seven Gates, sung with Christmas lyrics. This one from the famed Bottom Line show has the original, traditional lyrics some say were written by Henry VIII. 14. Dead Man, Acoustic Theme: How this one didn’t get on the soundtrack album is a real mystery. The spoken words here were read by the actor Johnny Depp who stars in the Dead Man movie

SBD Very cool, very eclectic show. Some awesome psychedelia here. An excellent recording that lent itself well to the remastering process. Some of the audience passages were really loud compared to the show material and that was evened out.The low end on the orignal was a bit out of control and the high-end was dull. Festival Actuel - Mont de l'Enclus
Amougies, Belgium
AUD FESTIVAL ACTUEL, AMOUGIES (Belgium) Day Two - October 25, 1969 source: audience recording Our Amougies series continues with probably the most anticipated performance of all - Pink Floyd's. Of course, the version of "Interstellar Overdrive" with Frank Zappa, long presumed lost, will now be familiar to most, but I'm sure this complete set will be of high interest to Floyd fans. As previously stated, the taper (JJB) didn't record everything, but when he did, he generally recorded complete sets. There are exceptions though, and Freedom is one of them - presumably after a few minutes the taper thought the band wasn't worth taping ? Still, better than nothing ! Also, there are obvious issues with the sound quality. Firstly, the tape recorder used was way below modern standards and the sound is nowhere near "professional" quality. Secondly, in order to save on batteries, the taper occasionally turned the recorder off between songs, resulting in a few truncated introductions. These reservations aside, however, this is simply an unbelievable document of a legendary festival, and so our hearfelt thanks to the taper for recording this at the time, and for allowing me to seed it here. I did my best to document setlists and line-ups but some information is still missing. Please help if you can. FREEDOM (6min) 1. introduction (0:16) 2. unknown (5:27) 3. "Looking Through the Knothole In Granny's 24:34 Wooden Leg" (Echoes) Comments and Reviews: The Digital Dan: Recorded live on 16 Nov 1971, at the Lisner Auditorium in Washington, DC. An excellent live audience recording, very clean and very low gen. Other versions of this show had considerable problems with edits between songs, strange volume levels and complete drop outs. All those problems have now been corrected and the results net a fantastic early Floyd show. OfTD is a really spacey version, considerably different and longer than most other versions. Echoes is presented by its working title, a little bit of humor from the boys. Dave seems to be in great spirits and loses control during the end of Cymbaline. Another must have recording if you are an early Floyd fan.

Both "If You Were A Bluebird" (Oil Well records) and "Remergence" contain decent quality recordings of the first set of the Earl's Court show. About 2 years ago, a new tape surfaced with a descent sound quality and a real good performance : YEESHKUL! (DFP - 322 Digital Floyd Project), March 11, 1973, Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Canada. Thanks to this RoIO we were able to hear a complete performance of the '73 tour. Unfortunately some never-heard-before-FAT-PIG-physiologic-clicks murdered this record (those who heard this record know what I mean OBSCURED BY CLOUDS/WHEN YOU'RE IN : The major attraction of this show is the presence of 2 tracks from the soundtrack for the movie "La Vallee" : "Obscured by Clouds" and "When You're In". It's these two songs that make this tour so desirable, as the band played Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety, leaving little room for new material. The other song from "La Vallee" that was performed live was "Childhood's End". You can find an extraordinary performance of this gem recorded in France, in late '72 on ECLIPSE (Harvested). Since "Let There Be More Light", and of course, "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun", "Obscured by Clouds" was the last song performed by the Floyd with an "oriental" feeling (just listen to the impressive things that Rick does on his keyboard at the beginning of the show). These 2 pieces are stuck together, and The Floyd played an extended version of "When You're In" with a long jam in the middle. This classic Floyd jam is very close in terms of rhythm, bass lines and feeling to the jam section from Echoes. We can I hear the 4 Floyd playing and jamming together and this is a true joy, since this was their last real collective material. SET THE CONTROLS FOR THE HEART OF THE SUN : A GREAT version. Rick Wright does a wonderful job on it during the middle section. This is the typical jam-middle-section that we can hear on the Pompeii soundtrack, with those impressive waterfall, cascade of synthetics notes and sounds... CAREFUL WITH THAT AXE, EUGENE : the built-up is good, a wild scream, Nick's drumming is ferocious. Too bad that the sound is too distant, especially during this track ! Anyway, this is not the '72 Boeblingen or the Hollywood Bowl version although this is a good version... ECHOES : not a so good version IMO and... unfortunately since it is my all time favorite Floyd song. They play it at a slow tempo or it sounds as if they play it at a slower tempo : This is the only track from this set that shows signs of tiredness and a lack of energy. The DARK SIDE OF THE MOON performance is good, especially for a post '72 show. The performance does not sound tired and sloppy as many of the other '73 or 74-75 performances. No particular wonderful solo during Time to point out, this is "just" a "common" solo . Highlights are - in my opinion - THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY : at last one version where the female choir doesn't murder the song ! Rick on grand piano plays so good ! US AND THEM is also a must-listen-to-it version : Dick Parry on saxophone does his finest solos on this version... Wonderful... ...You must hear this gem ! At the end of Brain Damage, Rick Wright uses the same sound than he used for Obscured by Clouds, therefore it sounds a little weird. As for the encore, the sound is too distant too really appreciate this version of One Of These Days. THE SOUND QUALITY : the sound is a little distant and there is some background noise (breathe in the air... The drums are well captured during Obscured by Clouds/When You're In, then it sounds a little distant. Too bad, since Nick's performance is very good for a post '72 show; his drumming deserved a better sound quality. However it is still REALLY enjoyable. The encore (One of These Days) sounds really distant and its sound quality is lesser good than the rest of the show. It is quiet as good in terms of sound quality than BLACK HOLES IN THE SKY and a little better than YEESHKUL!. Therefore, I would rate SUPINE... EX (VG+ for One of These Days). As for the pitch, the speed seems correct, although Marc-Olivier Becks told me that it was mastered a _bit_ too fast. I have taken my guitar and tried to be the fifth member of Pink Floyd by playing guitar during Breathe (don't worry, Dave, you won't have to exchange your guitar for a drum set because of me !). The common chord progression (Em, etc..) works and it doesn't seem to be out of tune. Alexandre Pennarun (apennarun@wanadoo.fr)

And I'm not just saying that because I was the seed... Ed Paule's complete release notes are below: Oh, the storied history of Animal Instincts... Ron Toon released AI (rev0) to the world sometime during the last millennia. Long before Harvested had a QA department. It was my discussions with Ron concerning the clicks, pops, and other glitches in AI (rev0) that led to my joining the team. One of my earliest contributions was to deglitch AI and the first rev A edition was released. As the years went by, a much lower generation source for this show emerged. My first knowledge of its existance was the RoIO Mr Pig. Although the SQ on Mr Pig was better than AI (you can hear many subtleties not detectable on AI revA), Mr Pig had other problems, like clipping, gaps during the tape flips, unbalanced, etc. So the thoughts of doing a rev B began. That was two years ago... About six months ago, we decided to do it. We got another source, a better source than Mr Pig. One that didn't have the clipping problem. Then Marc-Olivier went to work. Marc-Oliver spent quite sometime remastering this new source and expertly patching the tape flips. Then it was my turn. I recently finished doing the deglitching and sent a copy to Richard to start the weed. So here it is! Animal Instincts rev B (HRV-CDR-014) Pink Floyd recorded live at the Oakland Coliseum May 9, 1977. For me, the highlight of this show is SoYCD6-9. It's the best version of this song ever. For those of you that already own a copy of AI, you know that a bonus track is included at the end of disc two. This being the studio version of Pigs on the Wing with Snowy White prviding a bridge between the two parts. AI rev0 and revA simple included a copy of this song as it was released on Snowy White's Goldtop CD. Well... We've changed this too for AI revB. Now you have the original version (the Pink Floyd mix) as it appeared on the original 8-track tapes, transferred to digital direct from an original 8-track tape. This version is different than the Goldtop version (the Snowy mix). Enjoy! Harvested is proud to once again providethe definitive edition of this classic performance.

On the contrary, this was one of the Floyd's best performances faithfully captured by a competent taper (which differs from the widely circulated higher generation and poorer quality recording). "Pigs (3 Different One's)" also inspired his "Pig Talk" during the "In The Flesh" segments of "The Wall" concerts. AUD These notes are from source: Here's a really tasty early Ramones show for everyone. It's the one I mentioned in the comments of the last Ramones show I uploaded. This is probably the Ramones show I have that I tend to listen to the most. The setlist is great, the recording quality is top notch (especially for an audience from this time) and the band is like a machine, playing song after song with hardly a pause. Some really great stuff in this one. I have more Ramones stuff, so if people would like me to put more up and don't mind the CD-R lineage, just let me know. I didn't have the original files or info file, so I ripped the files using EAC in secure mode and then converted to FLAC using FLAC Frontend. I was able to find some information about this recording and have included what I found in this info file. But this is a great audience recording that any Ramones fan should snatch up, and I did listen to all the files after converting them to FLAC to make sure there weren't any problems. Enjoy the music! I was reading some interviews today about the impact The Ramones had on people, mostly other musicians. Someone said that they were his Beatles. I was pretty down on the music scene around the mid to late 70s. I had stopped seeing the Dead in 1973, which had been a staple in my life since 1970. I hated the stuff on the radio. I hated disco. Then some friends and I walked into CBGB and saw The Ramones. I couldn't believe it. Barely three chords but you just sort of stood there thinking, oh yeah, this is rock and roll. This is what was missing. CBGB was crazy. We used to try to get the booth directly under the light man, which was up on the right side of place as I recall. CBGB was really long and narrow. Maybe 25 or 30 feet wide? Maybe 200 feet long, something like that. A really long bar. That booth was about 25 feet from the stage and very convenient for me because I could hang the mikes from the light stanchions. Anyway, I taped this one, probably on a Sony TC153, on October 27, 1977. Usually we saw both the early and late shows, but this day we only saw the late show because we taped Zappa at the Palladium earlier in the evening. Busy day. Enjoy it kids. Happy Birthday Joey. Thanks for being in my life.

FM These notes are from source: Here's another one that I still have on my hard drive that I thought I would put up for all to enjoy. I did a search and was shocked to see that there wasn't anything from The Ramones. This is a really good show. While I won't agree with the guy who put this together saying that this is the best Ramones performance in the info file, it certainly is The Ramones at the top of their game. As usual, nothing has been changed from how I downloaded this. From the original info file: RAMONES - 'Undisclosed Location, Long Island, NY, July 20th, 1982, perfect FM' Without certainly knowing them all, it is pretty safe to say that this probably is the best and most energetic live recording of the Ramones ever. To quote one of the 7" bootlegs (a fake Japanese one, in fact): "The Ramones are so punky - you just have to react!" I couldn't agree any more. The concert was originally broadcast (live?) on WLIR Radio (for which the band stressed to play "exclusively"). For the purpose of sharing, it was recorded by my humble self off the LP bootleg that I own and of which I am including an image. There is at least one other LP bootleg version of the show plus a bootleg CD by the name of "The Chinese Wall" (1991), that has a different tracklist (see below) and, what's much more more important, sounds comparably shitty. If anyone has the complete show in perfect (i.e. sounding like my recording ;-)) quality, please let me know, or better yet, share it! OK, here we go - Lineage: vinyl bootleg "In Concert New York 1982" - Technics SL1210-MK2/Ortofon Concorde system/stylus - Audiowerk 8 studio soundcard - Macintosh G4 - Adaptec Jam 2.62 - CD-R - Toast Titanium 6.1 - Macintosh G5 - xACT - FLAC The tracks: 01 Do You Remember Rock'N'Roll Radio? 02 Do You Wanna Dance* 03 Blitzkrieg Bop 04 This Business Is Killing Me 05 All Quiet At The Eastern Front 06 Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment 07 Rock 'N'Roll Highschool 08 I Wanna Be Sedated 09 Beat On The Brat 10 Needles And Pins 11 I'm Affected 12 Chinese Rocket 13 Rockaway Beach 14 Teenage Lobotomy 15 Surfin' Bird 16 We Want The Airwaves* 17 Tonight* 18 We're A Happy Family* Total playing time: 38:10 minutes Enjoy!!!
