Return to The Taper's Database Music List for George Boyer
Last Update: July 30, 2004
Show Count: 139

Trading Rules:

August 2005:  It seems that most are downloading their own shows from e-tree and other links; good on you if that's the case.  I have few new shows since no one wants to trade now-a-days.  Therefore, with regret, I will reduce activity to the absolute  minimum.  If you have a show not listed on my e-tree list, shoot an e-mail and maybe we can trade.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Now! I was in the Marine Corps a long, long time ago and I served in a land far, far away. Each unit in the land far, far away had a religious Officer, a Chaplin, assigned; my unit had a Rabbi. He didn't smoke, so the Rabbi would take the cigarettes from his C-Rations and pass them out to the men. One day, the Rabbi gave me a cigarette and I said "Thank you for the kindness." He said back to me "It's not a kindness until you have passed it on." The kindness of the "Jam Band" communities has kept me going for the last few years. The purchase of a few blank CD's, a bubble mailer, and a buck or two in postage brought music to me that, for a few hours, took my mind off my seemingly never ending troubles. And what variety! Bands that I had never heard of, others that I had only read about, some traders sent music that I loved and some sent music that I really didn't care for. That was the beginning of my music collection; it helped to form this list. So, the point of this rant is...I want to pass on some of the kindness and some of the music that I have received.

I will B 'n P or trade with almost anyone if a few simple procedures are followed:

Blanks and Postage (B 'n P, or B+P, or BnP) people:

[] Quality discs please. Sony, TDK, and Fuji are fine. I will not accept Memorex. I will NOT accept el cheapo discs with local advertising stamped upon them. I will not put these items into my burner. If you send el cheapo especial discs or Memorex, I will return them to you unburned.

[] Do not write on your discs.? I will not write on your discs. I use Post-it-Notes to mark the group, venue, disc number, etc. If you want to put labels on your discs, please do it after I have burned the show, not before.

[] Send your discs in sleeve packs; I don't want your jewel case. Use and reuse bubble mailers. I will return your discs unburned it you use fiber filled mailers.

[] Remember that you pay the postage both ways. If you try to save money by getting the postage strips from where you work, the post office may not let the mailer return (it's a date thing). Think stamps.

[] If you are unclear of what to do during a B 'n P, just e-mail me and ask. ?If you are shy and think that I will RAISE MY FONT AT YOU because you asked questions, go to http://www.mcnichol.com/bnp. There, you will find all manner of instructions, handy helpful hints, lore, and laughs dealing with blanks and postage.

Traders:

[]Audio please. No .shn, FLAC, or the hot new compression program of the week.

[] If we engage in a trade, be honest about what you are sending me. I'm more likely to accept a bad recording of something that I really want if you tell me up front that it's a bad recording.

That's it. The whole show. No cover, with minimum Zen.? There is one more thing; remember to pass on the kindness.? Pass on the music.
