Please read regarding proper trades and b&p's; it's too easy ---> http://etree.org/bnp/index.html
I'm fairly laid-back on all trades and b&p's, just a few standard rules:
-HONESTY
-I don't accept Memorex, Imation, Maxell or any generics in TRADES (b&p's - my burner will take anything). I will accept Sony, Verbatim, Fuji, Mitsui, Kodak Gold, Taiyo Yuden's, and TDK's. I use most of these brands at different times.
-NO mp3's --- don't spread them!
-DAO only, please.
-Send cd's in protective sleeves, not jewel cases. Please don't send them loose, wrap them in paper, or send in an envelope! I use Case Logic double-sided sleeves.
-Please send a return bubble mailer - not a fiber mailer!
Grading:
A+ = soundboard
A = no flaws, non-soundboard, damn
A- = a small flaw, usually occurring once, minor
B = a major flaw, annoying
--If there is no grade, it means I haven't had a chance to give it a listen yet.
olospo - If you haven't heard them yet, you will soon!
www.olospo.com Check them out! I am always open for trades or b&p's for spo shows.

* with Tim Rogers on harmonica
** Fish loses his drumsticks during the intro so the band has to stop playing until he finds them :-)
Notes:
-This is definitely an audience recording judging by the R/L levels and
the "large" amount of crowd noise. You are able to hear conversations at
certain points. This, however, does not detract from the show since this
is an excellent recording. The hiss level is relatively low, probably no
more than two analog generations. |

This is one of my _all time_ favorite Phish shows. I got this directly off
the master cassette, so this is the best possible source. There was a third
set to this show, but the taper's ride needed to leave after the second set,
so unfortunately this is all we have, and the rest is history.
-Jeff Ishaq 08/20/00

PS - Dolby tip. As this was encoded with Dolby C when it mastered onto cassette,
that means you ideally play it back (decode) with Dolby C. Pass this on to any
analog folks this show goes to, please: Never use Dolby to record, only to play back. |

"Sbd/Aud mixes: The following shows were recorded to DAT from a separate
recording board at the shows. They are some of the highest quality
Phish tapes in existence: 4/22/90, 10/30/90, 10/31/90, 11/2/90,
11/3/90, 11/4/90, 3/13/91, 3/15/91, 3/16/91, 3/17/91, 3/22/91,
3/23/91, 4/5/92.
Except for the 4/5/92 tape, they have all been fairly widely circulated.
They were done on a large recording console (not EQ) and mixed completely
separately from the board mix, rumoredly done in a truck outside the venue.
The engineer used 2 audience mics to mix in crowd/hall ambience (on most of them).
See also, PA info."
Quoted from: http://www.phish.net/PhishFAQ/tquality.html
Info From Kevin Shapiro: "11/3/90 and the other tapes of the era (10/30-11/4)
were all done by Mike Grace through a separate 16 track mixer and ran direct to 2 track DAT. He basically used the same setup in Spring 1991 too." |

*For Elvis Week. #This segment was dominated by the stage presence
of Ken Kesey and The Merry Pranksters. Colonel Forbin doesn't meet
Icculus this timebut rather finds "Ken Uncle Sam Bozo Easy Kesey".
At this time Kesey, dressed as Uncle Sam, appearson the stage and
accounces that the Bozos have been missing for two years but are
on Phish tour now. He calls one by one the Tin Man, the Scarecrow,
and Frankenstein (Phish breaks into "Frankenstein") to help him
find the Bozos, which soon appear as four white things in costume.
After singing about the Bozos which are doing interpretive dance,
the Pranksters all leave the stage after Kesey hears the "Bozo
Mockingbird". Trey comments that this is what happens "after you
do too much acid 30 years later..." Phish had been playing
background music (including McGrupp and Ghost teases) which had
developed by this point into a deep funk jam. Trey announces that "we are supposed to start 'Famous Mockingbird', but the funk is too deep." The band continues the funk jam and eventually segues into "Camel Walk." |

* With glowstick war.
+ Long and drawn out; Fish introduces "his band": Trey Anastasio on drums, Mike "Cactus" Gordon on bass, "Chairman of the Boards" Page McConnell, and himself as "Bob Weaver." Fish introduces the next song as "a love song about a turtle" (which would have been "Terrapin"), but instead he performed Sexual Healing ("a much better song anyway") after "his band" finally ended "Hold Your Head Up."
++ Includes "Sounds of Love" vacuum solo.
# With "Sexual Healing" teases in the intro.
% "Harry Balls" chant. With glowstick war.
** Fireworks after Harry Hood, lit by long fuse that ran around and above the
stage, then over to an elephant sculpture/float, which was walked around.
^ Henry Mancini cover; see 12-01-92. Trey lit a tiki-torch (that looked like a "giant fake doobie") and used it to light a fuse which ran up Page's side of the stage, across the backdrop, down Fish's side of the stage, along the fence to a giant elephant-shaped structure near the stage, which came to life as fireworks went off both above it and from behind the stage. Fish made elephant noises with a trombone. Then, as they played the song, the elephant blew waterout of its trunk (while smoke came from underneath it) and led the crowd
towards the campground. |

** - with "Robert 'Just call me Joe C'" on vacuum; Trey began to introduce Jon as Robert before Jon interrupted asking that he just be called Joe C
*** - last "Esther" 08/09/98 (141 shows) according to ZZYZX's Phish Stats; Trey flubs the entire last verse of the song, ending the song with "She died. Dead"
**** - as the band returned to the stage, the crowd sang "Happy Birthday" to Trey for his 36th birthday
# - last "Colonel Forbin's Ascent" 08/07/98 (143 shows) according to ZZYZX's Phish Stats; Trey takes the time to thank the people who have supported them, including the crew (the greatest crew in the history of music) and to talk about the hiatus and how they'll use it to write songs and recharge (so they can come back and play
another 17 years) after these next 6 shows before talking about the strange dream he had last night that he was sitting in the middle of a field on a beautiful day, when suddenly he saw from the periphary of his vision people walking towards him... an army of
people surrounding him before sitting down. One of them took an
apple and handed it to him and explained that they wanted him to
eat the apple as a gift, but he realized he had no teeth... but
then a giant tooth grew out of his upper gum. But you can't eat an
apple with one tooth. He began to get nervous that people would
wonder why he wasn't eating the apple and he had a moment of
panic. Luckily, at that moment, the sun flew closer to the sun than
it had ever been in history, and as a result his first thought was
that the earth would burn up, but instead, the earth acted in the
way that a grape acts... it shrivled and turned into a raisin
version of the earth. The ground wrinkled and became mountains and
the people got crushed together into a big pile. Only moments
before he'd been panicking, but being crushed together, he realized
that all of his senses became much more vivid in the way that a
raisin is more intense tasting than a grape... Sounds, emotions,
love... And just as the earth was becoming a much more rich and
vivid place, he found himself in this pile of people. This pile of people became a groping pile of love and goo and he realized that Gamehendge is a state of mind and you don't have to get there
physically. He decided then that everyone needed to know how simple
it was to turn yourself into a seething pile of goo, so he called upon the Famous Mockingbird to spread the word about this...
## - last "Fly Famous Mockingbird" 08/07/98 according to ZZYZX's Phish Stats
### - with Trey on keyboard
#### - Beatles cover; last "A Day in the Life" 07/03/98 (165 shows)
according to ZZYZX's Phish Stats
@ - Rolling Stones cover; last "Emotional Rescue" 07/28/98 (150
shows) according to ZZYZX's Phish Stats; song ended with Trey
setting up a delay loop before he and Mike moved to the front of
the stage and began a bizarre synchonized duel involving them
swinging their guitar and bass at each other and around themselves
while wandering across the front of the stage and putting strange hats on Page and Jon; at one point Trey and Mike put both the guitar and bass down on the stage and kicked/stomped the stage beside them to produce more feedback; in the end Trey finally "defeated" Mike before the band walked off stage |
