10/31/73 The Record Plant, Sausalito, CA  CDR    ?????  this is the correct date for the show that's often mislabeled 12/73 ksan radio broadcast - the air date was 12/02/73 but it was recorded on 10/31/73. this was recorded shortly after the wailers were kicked off the sly & the family stone tour for actually drawing more attention than sly. they were stranded and the k-san station booked them at the matrix club as well as giving them this radio time. lineup: bob marley: guitar and vocals peter tosh: rhythm guitar and vocal earl 'wire' lindo: keyboards aston 'family man' barrett: bass carlton barrett: drums "walk the proud land" is the same song as "rude boy", with slightly different text written by bunny wailer, but here bob is singing his lyrics version, so it's called "rude boy". after "rastaman chant" there's the instrumental jam of "keep the faith".

07/21/79 Harvard Stadium, Boston, MA  CDR    This was one of Bob's most unique shows because it was before the beginning of the Survival 1979 tour but it was after the recording of Survival. So this is really one of the first shows of the tour. Bob was asked to do this concert while in Jamaica recording the album survival. Other artists present at the concert were comedian Dick Gregory who paid Bob respect by kissing his hands at the show. They made Bob perform during the afternoon because the promoters feared a powerful performance from Bob could spark a riot. He did give one of his most powerful performances with improvisation on many tracks from both Bob and the band. The most amazing part of this show is the encore in which Bob play 2 new songs at that time. During this long version of Zimbabwe and Wake Up & Live he gives one of his only speeches. Truly a historic moment in the career of Bob Marley. This is the first time that the full soundboard recording has been collected   "amandla festival" this was one of bob's most unique shows because it was before the beginning of the survival 1979 tour but it was after the recording of survival. so this is really one of the first shows of the tour. bob was asked to do this concert while in jamaica recording the album survival. other artists present at the concert were comedian dick gregory who paid bob respect by kissing his hands at the show. they made bob perform during the afternoon because the promoters feared a powerful performance from bob could spark a riot. he did give one of his most powerful performances with improvisation on many tracks from both bob and the band. the most amazing part of this show is the encore in which bob played 2 new songs at that time. during this long version of zimbabwe and wake up & live he gives one of his only speeches.

12/06/79 Hoch Hall, University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS  CDR    Great show, has a fantastic live feeling. two AUD sources are circulating: Source 1 is the more complete one, with cuts between No More Trouble and One Drop, as well as during Jammin'. probably incomplete though, as usually more songs were played between No More Trouble and One Drop on Marley's 1979 tour. Source 2 has better sound but only features the encore from No Woman No Cry to Get Up, Stand Up, but has a complete recording of Jammin'. The Blue Riddim Band were the openers. Rumours are circulating that an audience video has been made, but hasn't found its way to the traders yet; it is reported to cover only the encore since the taper forgot to turn on the video, maybe AUD source 2 is the soundtrack, who knows...   the blue riddim band were the openers.
