Return to The Taper's Database Music List for Jes
Last Update: May 23, 2004
Show Count: 263

Trading Rules:

Want List:

1)I'm always looking for new music so am usually up for anything. Specifically I'm looking for ANY Alice In Chains, Mad Season, Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Screaming Trees, Social Distortion, Mike Ness, Ministry, Janes Addiction, Morphine, Oakenfold, Moby, Jack Johnson, Rage Against the Machine, Pantera, Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Muddy Waters, Norah Jones, Radiohead, Pink Floyd... really just about anything.

Trade Rules:

1)Don't send me cheap (Imation (never had luck w/ their disks), Office Max, Office Depot...) TAO disk's, be sure they're DAO, I'd have a bigger problem with that than anything else. I use Fuji, but will except TDK

2)I am only accepting SHN's now but all my SHN's can be converted to audio, just ask.

3)Send disks in sleeves (no jewel cases or plastic wrap) and mailed in a bubble mailer, if the CD's get damaged or scratched, I will expect replacements as I would do the same for you. 4)Really I'm not that picky. B & P Rules: Standard Rules. Go To http://www.mcnichol.com/bnp/ for tips on B&P procedures. Basically, don't be an idiot, I'm not too strict, just FOLLOW THE RULES and things will work out fine. If you have ANY questions just ask.

Sound Quailty Grading: This is totally my opinion of the quality (Soundwise) of the show, if there is no grading that means I have not had enough time to check it out yet. I'm busy. And Finally, I will keep in contact w/ you and will try to make this as pleasant experience as possilbe so DON'T SCREW ME, because I won't screw you, and mostly, have fun and spread the music.

Check out this site for some great BT downloads and just great music. http://www.sharingthegroove.org/ (kickass site) If you have any questions about bit torrent, check out this site http://wiki.etree.org/index.php?page=BitTorrent

Stage right, seated 5 feet back, in front of Brian Blade. A simple line up: Daniel Lanois, Brian Blade and Nancy Faulk. The Man, playing multi role, super bottom heavy electric guitar, and slide guitar. Brian Blade, unbelievable drummer, using his hands as much as mallets. Nancy adding tasteful vocals. I rolled off some low end, your speakers should be able to handle it.

2 SHN/CDR 3 B+ AKG C460B/CK61-ULS cardioids->Beyer MV-100->Tascam DA-P1 There is a good deal of brickwalling during the loud audience parts, much like the 2-18-96 tape from the same rig. It seems almost all copies of this show are either incomplete, have really wierd tracking, or have cuts. So I decided to put this clean copy out there as it is such a great show. Finding an DAT clone proved very frustrating. I hope someone can find one at some point so we can get a DAT>WAV>SHN version. There are fades in and out of each disc. The only editing done to this show was a splice in "Christmas Song" done by myslef. If you can find it email me and let me know. Compiled by Andrew Knowles(akrover@yahoo.com) on 04-25-01

1 shn A unknown notes in txt file: I am 0% sure of the date. 6/27/92 is simply what it was labeled as when it was sent to me. All I know is that this is pure wholesome DMB jamming goodness which is very rare and quite enjoyable. Please realize that the lineage of this show is unknown. Despite that, I figured the nature of the played material made it worth its release. At the end of track #4 Dave gives props to Oteil Burbridge on bass and Mike Durham(?) on guitar

The other tape had some other problems, not to mention a good portion of the between song banter cut out, so needless to say, we used the good tape for that.

2 SHN/CDR 2 Soundboard/Audience This is not a reissue of the famous soundboard tape but, as the title suggests, a combination of soundboard and audience sources. TDOLZ have outdone themselves by filling the gaps on the soundboard tape with the audience source with a mastering job that has to be heard to be believed. The audience source is spliced onto the soundboard tape, and viceversa, so cleanly it's amazing. The differences of quality and volume between both recordings are notorious but the painstaking care with which the tapes were combined is truly awesome, allowing the concerts to flow.Other versions of the soundboard tape pale in comparison to the greatly detailed and dynamic sound quality and the stereo separation of TDOLZ's offering .I hadn't heard the audience tape, so listening to these complete performances is a revelation as the quality of the audience source is very clear. The total time suggests that these sets are probably as complete as they can be save for Plant's introduction to "Train."

1 SHN/CDR 1? Muddy Waters 16Jan1974 Boston,MA I searched long & hard for a set list to this. I know most of the tracks but wanted the titles for the instrumental tracks #10 & #11. The very few sites I found that had this show disagreed not only on track titles but sequence...so I'm putting it up in the sequence I got it. They also only show 12 songs but mines 16... one site mentioned filler on their copy came from Europe 76 .. but thats all they said. It blends well sound & volume wise so..oh well =) Heres what ya gettin': 01-Blow Wind Blow 02-Howlin' Wolf 03-Can't Get No Grindin' 04-Trouble No More 05-Hoochie Coochie Man 06-Baby, Please Don't Go 07-Mannish Boy 08-Everything's Gonna Be Alright 09-Got My Mojo Workin' 10-Muddy's Blues (?) 11-Harmonica Boogie (?) 12-Come Back Baby (aka Garbage Man) the filler: 13-Caldonia 14-Blow Wind Blow 15-Kansas City 16-Corrina, Corrina Several of these fade in & out so its NOT a true DAO !! If that stops you from getting this its your loss. Muddys performance is awesome & the sound quality appears to be very good soundboards. This is probably on the master, and seems to be on most circulating copies. Show Notes (thanks to Five Horizons): New Year's Eve and three great bands! Ed comments, "If I wasn't in this band, I would still make sure I was here tonight." Ed sings part of Fugazi's 'Waiting Room' as an intro to 'Even Flow.' A driven performance, with a particularly intense version of 'Alive.' Flea of RHCP assists with vocals during 'Leash.' The 'Teen Spirit' teaser (actually the longest teaser I've heard) is followed by Stone's quip, "Just remember, we played it first." Ed performs one of his finest stage dives, repeating it later during the 'Yurtle the Turtle' encore with the Chili Peppers. Uptown Theater
Kansas City, MO
1 SHN/CDR 1 Notes Unknown equipment etc used during recording. This is a great show, both in terms of sound and setlist. Here is some info on the show. This was maybe the 25th show on the Bands first full US tour (Bono himself was a month under 21 as he mentions before Another time). Larry Mullen Jr. was still a teenager. The opening act was Romeo Void. As was typical Bono fashion, he constantly thanks the crowd and says good night as if they were done. There is a cut between tracks 10 and 11 because of the encore break. The last three tracks are not bonus tracks, this is a complete show it's just that back in the day, U2 were likely to repeat 11 O'Clock, The Ocean and I Will Follow at the end of the show. The 2nd version of I Will Follow comes in rather quickly as it appeared that U2 were done but came back onstage for another encore.

National Tennis Center

2 SHN/CDR 2 cd-r > EAC > WAV > MKW? > SHN NOTE (from Justin Cook's site): Darren Glen put in numerous hours at the studio remastering this bootleg, using "Lovetown Melbourne - Night Three" as his primary source material. The result is outstanding. Again, crowd noise is present--there is no way to eliminate that--but the vocals are at the forefront and all of the instruments can be clearly heard. This is definitely one of the best first leg Lovetown recordings available. It is infinitely better than any of the other bootlegs of this concert that I have heard.

12/30/89

Point Depot
Dublin, Ireland
2 SHN A Silver Rarities Excellent soundboard. Track 2 of Disc 1 suffers from substantial distortion and occasional dropouts. During Out of Control at 2:37, it seems as though someone held down the fastfoward button, then released it (the word "opinion"sounds like it's being hiccuped or `rapped'). Also during Love Rescue me at 1:34 the sound is lost completely for a brief instance (this error seems somewhat similar to what occurs at 2:37 during Out of Control). At any rate, the prevailing notion that the only error occurs during "Bullet the Blue Sky"--and that the rest of the recording is flawless is incorrect. I think these errors should be mentioned in the review since many fans could be mislead to think that the people they are trading with made errors while recording this show.

1 shn/cdr 1 A A Notes in TXT file: NOTE: This is an excellent soundboard recording of the PopMart concert in Mannheim, Germany. Somebody has been sitting on it forever, because it just surfaced at the beginning of June. Vocals and instruments are both perfectly clear in this recording. You can hear Bono talking in between songs like he is standing in your living room...absolutely incredible! Don't pass it up.
