TSP were tapped to open Green Day's massive stadium summer tour celebrating 2 of their biggest albums. The Pumpkins played a tight hour long set featuring a few gems with a surprising cover of U2's "Zoo Station". For a large stadium recording, this sounds good. Their sound was not as on point as Green Day's, but you'll have that with an opener sometimes. Having said that, TSP's was far better than Rancid's (whom I did not tape). You will hear some people shuffling into their seats nearby at times, but outside of that there is not
too much crowd interference with this one. Cincinnati baseball legend Joey Votto got a nice dedication prior to "Cherub Rock".
The Linda Lindas, Rancid and Green Day were also on the bill.
(only TSP & Green Day were recorded). |
