| Tech Notes | The Diagrams of Led Zeppelin TDOLZ Vol. 98 982001/982002/982003 from UU: One of the last TDOLZ titles, this is an excellent, almost complete, very good to excellent stereo audience recording of Zeppelin's July 17, 1973 concert in Seattle. A gap lasting several seconds at the end of No Quarter is filled with a good source that sounds like it is from vinyl, and the guitar drops during the solo in Stairway To Heaven making it difficult to hear (a real pity). The concert is one of the highlights of the tour. The epics, Dazed and Moby Dick, are extremely long, even for this tour. No Quarter is very mysterious, The Ocean is fantastic, and Whole Lotta Love has a unique rhythm during the theremin solo that is heard only in this show. The show is let down only by the exploding mellotron during The Rain Song, where Jones switches to electric piano giving the song a different atmosphere. Plant's comments between songs are very charming as well. |
