Production Notes

Here's a fine addition to any Rush fans collection. There are several copies of this date floating around currently that are fine in their own right but I think this version has several upgrades. For begin with it's from the master (doesn't get any lower gen than that :) ). Personally I feel that the EQ is slightly closer to being "true", the tape slice was handled slightly differently and (because of a suggestion by a fan) the track break was changed to end disc 1 with The Trees. This break makes more sense if you listen to the show. The audience for the most part is very well behaved and respectful of the performance. Just looking at the set list makes me salivate (sorry for the image). 2112, both books of Cygnus, pre-releases of both Spirit of Radio and Freewill (even though they are 99% identical to the official versions), a HUGE ending medley and what has to be one of the best instrumentals of all time, La Villa Strangiato.

The name of this release is rather special. The Allentown ?79 Master part is self-explanatory but the United part is what makes this special. Many people were involved in this release. Starting with the taper, Frank who graciously loaned the master tape to Greg. Greg in turn loaned the tape to Slipkid. Slipkid, after being introduced to SMP by Mike graciously forwarded the master tapes to the SMP headquarters so all fans could enjoy. Cashman graciously donated the previously unpublished photos on the coverart to Dave and of course there is Neph who did the wonderful artwork. But it doesn't end there! There were several "beta testers" that listened to various working copies that allowed SMP to improve the show until it was ready for release. This was a true case of fans helping other fans. Thank you everyone!

This recording was produced by fans, for fans and is never to be sold. If you like this recording, support the artists and purchase their official releases! Released October 2005 on The Alien Shore - http://p078.ezboard.com/bthealienshore. As is the Simple Man norm, this show will be traded freely to all comers.
