Long sought after by Zeppelin & Plant fans alike, only part of this short series has been available from the broadcast tapes until now. The quality you'll hear here surpasses that of previous "leaks" of the SBD material, especially the definition of the high frequencies. Does anybody remember.... dynamics? The range on this recording is spectacular - nice and open - no clipping. Absolutely ZERO compression, limiting or EQ applied to this transfer. This is CLEAN. The only thing I did to this was meticulously remove any noticeable pops or crackles. I did NOT just run a generic pop filter on the entire set of audio, as that usually harms the recording in an unpleasant way. This set runs as the broadcast did, with one exception: I removed all but one Honda Shadow commercial (they were all exactly the same and played at EVERY break). All other commercials are left in place. This entire transfer is precisely tracked so you can easily skip parts you don't want to hear. There are 43 tracks total, filling 3CDs: 01 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Bill Minkin - Introduction.flac 02 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Honda Shadow.flac 03 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Budweiser 1.flac 04 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - In The Mood.flac 05 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Pledge Pin.flac 06 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Levis Blue Jeans.flac 07 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Budweiser 2.flac 08 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Bill Minkin.flac 09 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Messin With The Mekon.flac 10 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Good Evening Plantations.flac 11 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Worse Than Detroit.flac 12 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Plantations.flac 13 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Moonlight In Samosa.flac 14 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Bill Minkin.flac 15 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Budweiser 3.flac 16 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Bill Minkin.flac 17 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Fat Lip.flac 18 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Two Step.flac 19 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Bill Minkin.flac 20 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - Budweiser 4.flac 21 - CD1 - 1984.01.29 - Part 1 - End Credits.flac 22 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Bill Minkin - Introduction.flac 23 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Budweiser 5.flac 24 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Bill Minkin.flac 25 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Other Arms.flac 26 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Horizontal Departure.flac 27 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Pledge Pin.flac 28 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Bill Minkin.flac 29 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Budweiser 6.flac 30 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Bill Minkin.flac 31 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Plant and Band Introductions.flac 32 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Slow Dancer.flac 33 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Like Ive Never Been Gone.flac 34 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Bill Minkin.flac 35 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Budweiser 7.flac 36 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Bill Minkin.flac 37 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Big Log.flac 38 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - Burning Down One Side.flac 39 - CD2 - 1984.02.05 - Part 2 - End Credits.flac 40 - CD3 - 1984.01.29 - Bonus! - Side D - In The Mood (pre-broadcast).flac 41 - CD3 - 1984.02.05 - Bonus! - Side D - Big Log (pre-broadcast).flac 42 - CD3 - 1984.01.29 - Bonus! - Radio Promo for Part 1.flac 43 - CD3 - 1984.02.05 - Bonus! - Radio Promo for Part 2.flac Also included are hi-res scans of one of the four records, the accompanying documentation - cue sheets, scripts and a letter to the radio station program directors from David Knight, the producer of the show. This set was rescued from a record store by Krambo199 with real money. The album covers are plain white (since this set was meant to be played once for broadcast and discarded) and the price sticker from the record shop is intact. Without disclosing what he paid, let me assure you that Krambo199 is being very generous in offering this to the community for free - especially since it is so rare. From what I can tell, this is the first time it has been available in full, including the "D" sides that feature cuts mastered for broadcast in regular rotation, outside the King Biscuit show. Enjoy!
