| J-Card Comment | U2 seemed to be in a rush on that day. The support group started at 7:20pm (instead of 8pm as usual) and U2 began their show at 8:15pm (instead of 9pm as usual). Ultra Violet was not played and the phone call was overdubbed by the opening bars of "With Or Without You". Bono, Adam and Larry flew immediately home to Dublin after the show. Bono stayed in the venue and left late. He adviced his chauffeur to stop the limousine at the backstage entrance and gave autographs and answered some questions. My question: "Bono - will you play Acrobat live" Answer: "Yes, we are working on it." The day began totally relaxed because we were waiting at the backstage entrance in the afternoon. Some security let us in and we were amazed that U2 were on the b-stage playing "Can't Help Falling In Love" in an acoustic version. This version was very, very long. It was followed by "She's A Mystery To Me" which was played on the b-stage, too. Our visit ended with the opening bars of "Zoo Station" which was played on the a-stage. I did not record the soundcheck because it was impossible to take it out of the jacket, fix the microphones and press the button (the security would have killed me). The best memories keep in my mind (and not on a medium) |
