| J-Card Comment | This is from a silver CD bootleg called "Time to Suck." These are a good example of the evolution of NIN's live shows. The 1990 concert features the original album arrangement of "Sin" and an early version of NIN's cover of "Get Down, Make Love" (before it was released on the "Sin" single in 1991, with production by Al Jourgenson of Ministry). The 1991 concert features the concert-only intro track "Now I'm Nothing," along with tracks that would later appear on 1992's Broken EP ("Wish," "Physical," "Suck"). "Suck" was co-written and first recorded by Trent Reznor with Pigface for the studio album Gub and live album Welcome to Mexico...Asshole. The Boston concert was part of the band's tour as opening act for The Jesus and Mary Chain on the Automatic Tour. This recording may be incomplete: during this tour, the band typically opened with intro music followed by "Terrible Lie" before "Sin." The Birmingham concert was part of the band's first European tour. This recording is definitely incomplete: the intro to "Sin" can be heard after "Terrible Lie," and the intro to "Get Down, Make Love" can be heard after "Wish." There may have been additional tracks performed as well; on this tour, the band typically followed "Get Down, Make Love" with "Ringfinger," "Down in It," and "Head Like a Hole." Lineup, tracks 1-7: Trent Reznor: Vocals, guitar Richard Patrick: Guitar, backing vocals Nick Rushe: Keyboards, programming, backing vocals Chris Vrenna: Drums Lineup, tracks 8-13: Trent Reznor: Vocals, guitar Richard Patrick: Guitar, backing vocals James Woolley: Keyboards, programming, backing vocals Jeff Ward: Drums Tracks 5 & 13 are mislabeled as "The Only Time" and "Something" on the bootleg. |
