| Notes | Lineage: Roland CS-10EM binaural mics -> Zoom H1 -> Audacity -> CD Wave Editor -> FLAC 1.3 -> you This is incompatible with the CD-Audio standard. The sound is in 24-bit stereo sampled at 96 kHz. Feel free to post a downsample; I’m not going to. Notes, rambles, etc.: Another learning experience. I tried the ‘auto-level’ setting. The good thing about that is that it lowers the level of the things that are too loud due to proximity. The bad thing is that it auto-adjusts in the middle of a piece due to something loud regardless of relevance and it was rather abrupt. I modified levels in Audacity to try to normalize it, but there now might be a little bit of clipping. If you want the raw file and want to do your own remaster, I’ll upload it. Highlights: Gavin & Jakko joined The Zappa Band on ‘Baltimore.’ Jakko played the whole thing, then took the third solo. It might sound like the second solo, but Mike picked up seamlessly from Jamie with the same note feeding back, so it’s not an obvious transition. Joe incorporated the intro to Zep’s RnR in one of the Florentine drum breaks Tony’s short opening bow ‘test’ was really beautiful. On Tony’s ‘Cadenza,’ he sang a bit of ‘Elephant Talk’ that had Fripp in stitches -- almost fell off his stool. Lowlight: Two fewer songs than the NJ set last weekend. Special moment: At the start of the ItCotKC when the guy next to me turns to his friend and says ‘I actually have this album.’ Enjoy. Peace, Phideaux3 |
