  My Trading Rules:
Trading Info
I run a fast private server, .shn etrades always welcome! I often do favors for newbies (usually B&Ps or free downloads)... email me and we'll work something out.

Though I prefer etrades, I also do snail-mail trades occasionally.

Key to the "notes" column:
(1s/2a) means that the show takes one CD if burned as shn, or two discs if burned as audio (playable in a CD player). I'm also including source info (analog soundboard, digital sbd, audience) under 'notes' as well.

Shows I'm very interested in:
Anything of Aimee Mann
Any Simon & Garfunkel
Decent recordings of Weezer
Stuff on my etree want list

My Music List:

03/24/00 WXPN World Cafe Philadelphia PA shn 1 (1s/1a) Probably pre-FM source. Radio interview/show with Aimee Mann and Michael Penn. A couple of pre-recorded songs, but most are live in the studio. I fixed the track duplication problem with t17. Cover art. (#1)
04/09/00 Angie's Nightclub Hamburg Germany shn 1 (1s/1a) Audience ???. Awesome sound for an aud recording-- almost zero crowd noise during songs. Almost sounds like an sbd! Filler: "Calling it Quits" from the Tonight Show. Cover art. (#1)

Date Venue City State Media Type Media Count SHN Info Notes
04/22/93 Prism Coffee House Charlottesville VA shn 2 Source Detail (1s/2a) dsbd. Excellent sound, except for two quick dropouts(Satellite and Nancies) and two tracks which skip several times (Help Myself and Tripping Billies). Tim plays You Are My Sanity and Stream. Great show! (#28)
02/11/97 O'Connell Center (Univ. Fla.) Gainesville FL shn 3
02/06/99 Jorgensen Auditorium (UConn) Storrs CT shn 3 Source Detail (2s/3a)

Dave Matthews (solo)
Date Venue City State Media Type Media Count SHN Info Notes
01/05/92 Rutabega Studio Arlington VA shn 1 Source Detail (1s/1a) dsbd. The origin of these recordings is now questioned (some of the tracks may have been from different sessions), but they are still essential! Tracks 13-18 are live solo tracks (dates in info file). (#6)
05/02/92 Trax Charlottesville VA shn 1 Source Detail (1s/1a) dsbd. A Dave-only acoustic show from back in the day. Slightly echoey, but not distracting. (#6)
04/09/93 Roseland Ballroom New York NY shn 1 Source Detail (1s/1a) dsbd. Dave plays three songs during the setbreak of a Blues Traveler show: Watchtower, LiOG, and Halloween. Carter plays on the last two. Cool drum solo at the beginning of Halloween. (#8)
06/03/96 Jewish Mother Virginia Beach VA shn 1 Source Detail (1s/1a) asbd. Four songs, played between sets at an AGR show. Dave is drunk and stoned, but plays quite well, and says some amusing things along the way. (#6)
09/21/01 Radio City Music Hall New York NY shn 1 Source Detail (1s/1a) Just one song-- Everyday. From the "America: A Tribute to Heroes" telethon. MPG also available. (#7)
09/21/01 Radio City Music Hall New York NY mpg 1 MPG for Dave Matthews (Solo) show of the same date. VCD-compatible (352x240, 29.97 Hz)
09/29/01 Verizon Wireless Music Center Noblesville IN shn 1 Source Detail (1s/1a) Audience AT853s. The Farm Aid show. Lots of audience noise sometimes, and some wind noise occasionally too. Grace is Gone and Watchtower with Micky Raphael on harmonica. Played old songs and new songs-- there's something here for everyone. (#7)
10/02/01 Radio City Music Hall New York NY shn 1 Source Detail (1s/1a) One song, "In My Life," from the John Lennon Tribute. MPG also available. (#7)

11/12/01 Hanover Grand London England shn 2 Source Detail (1s/2a) Audience AT4055s, 3 ft from left stack. Great audience recording. Dave plays a new song ('Where Are You Going' aka 'Superman'?) and some other semi-rarities: Long Black Veil and Ain't it Funny How Time Slips Away. (#14)

Dave Matthews Band
Date Venue City State Media Type Media Count SHN Info Notes
04/05/92 Van Ryper's Music Festival Charlottesville VA mpg 2 (2m/1v) (Two discs if burned as mpg, one disc if burned as a VCD). From a tripod VHS recording. Some clipping (esp. at the beginning of the first disc). One audio/video glitch during Dancing Nancies. Dave's guitar is almost inaudible, but the rest of the instruments sound fine. The resolution isn't that great, but the cameraman zooms in on all members of the band eventually, so you can see what they looked like ten years ago. (Yes, you can see Peter Greiser!) (#15-16)
09/01/92 Trax Charlottesville VA shn 2 Source Detail (2s/2a) asbd. A few minor audio problems towards the end. A fun old show-- Peter Griesar is on keyboard the whole time. Includes some rarities (Spotlight, Tangerine, BWBF). Tripping Billies not included with this source. (#17-18)
12/09/92 Flood Zone Richmond VA shn 2 Source Detail (2s/2a) dsbd. Missing PFWYG and LIOG before True Reflections (d2t01). Nearly flawless sound. Peter Griesar on keys for much of the show. Rarities: The Maker, Spotlight, Blue Water Baboon Farm.(#19-20)
01/27/93 Flood Zone Richmond VA shn 3 Source Detail (2s/3a) dsbd. Great show, awesome source... one of my favorites! (#21-22)
11/23/93 Trax Charlottesville VA shn 2 Source Detail (2s/2a) dsbd. Source is clean, with a few slight anomalies. They raffle off a guitar donated by Stefan's dad, which Dave mentions about 20 times. Includes the rarity Help Myself. (#41-42)
12/07/93 Trax Charlottesville VA shn 2 Source Detail (2s/2a) dsbd. No flaws that I can recall. Tim plays with the boys for the entire show, and you can tell-- there are a number of wicked AWESOME jams. Rarities: Tripping Billies (nature intro with words!), early version of Say Goodbye and a great Carter & Tim jam. The seeder did no digital editing to this show at all. One of my favorites! (#40-41)
10/15/94 Oak Mountain Amphitheatre Pelham AL shn 1 Source Detail (1s/1a) dsbd. DMB opens for Phish and plays 7 songs (inc. Get In Line). Filler: Jam-> The Maker (the encore from the Phish show) with Phish and DMB. The filler starts off with a Carter/Fishman drum duet. (#29)
02/23/95 Roseland Ballroom New York NY shn 2 Source Detail (1s/2a) dsbd. Fantastic sound, great setlist. With John Popper on Recently, Water Wine Jam, and #36. (#23)
06/05/97 Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center Canandaigua NY shn 2 Source Detail (2s/2a) Audience Schoeps mk4s. Great audience recording. Bela Fleck plays on LIOG, Seek Up, and Ants Marching. Rarities: Beauty of Wynona, Anyone Seen The Bridge. (#38-39)
06/21/98 Loreley Freilichtbühne St. Goarshausen Germany shn 1 (1s/1a) dsbd... to be reviewed
08/31/00 GTE Virginia Beach Amphitheatre Virginia Beach VA shn 2 (2s/2a) dsbd. Fantastic sound, except for some intermittant audio problems for 60sec of Watchtower. (#36-37)
12/13/00 Madison Square Garden New York NY shn 2 Source Detail (2s/2a) dsbd. Awesome show with Warren Haynes on Cortez the Killer, Exodus, and Ants Marching. Lover Lay Down is missing from this (otherwise perfect) source. (#34-35)
??/??/00 Red Light Studios Charlottesville VA shn 1 Source Detail (1s/1a) CD > SHN (no mp3 generation). Sounds much better than the 192kbps MP3s I had before! An essential for DMB fans, especially for those who dislike 'Everyday.' (#11)
07/11/01 Folsom Field (CU Boulder) Boulder CO shn 3 Source Detail (2s/3a) Audience AKG ck91s. This is the "anonymous source," and is IMHO the best source around for this show. Good sound, but the taper doesn't always keep the mics aimed right. Very little audience chatter during the songs. Before the music on d1t01, you can hear the taper (Chris) selling pot to another Dave fan (#24-25)
08/24/01 The Gorge Ampitheatre George WA shn 3 Source Detail (2s/3a) Audience Neumann ak40s. Great source. Among other things, they play Big Eyed Fish and a 20-minute Two Step. (#32-33)
08/25/01 The Gorge Ampitheatre George WA shn 3 Source Detail (2s/3a) Audience Earthworks SR77s. Pretty good sound, excellent setlist! Rarities: Waste, Anyone Seen the Bridge? (#30-31)
08/26/01 The Gorge Ampitheatre George WA shn 3 Source Detail (3s/2a) Audience km140s. Pretty good source, but lacking in the low-end frequencies. #41 has an Everyday outro. Dave is sick, so he sounds somewhat restrained. Pretty good setlist (but no Watchtower!). (#26-27)
02/09/02 Olympic Medals Plaza Salt Lake City UT shn 1 (1s/1a) asbd... to be reviewed. (#45)

David Gray
Date Venue City State Media Type Media Count SHN Info Notes
05/15/00 The Fillmore San Francisco CA shn 2 (1s/2a) Audience MK4s (stealthed). Good source-- the crowd noise isn't obnoxious. The opening act (Josh Rouse) is provided as filler at the end of d2. (#4)
09/28/00 The NorVa Norfolk VA shn 1 (1s/1a) dsbd. Last track is 'Smile' AND 'An Afternoon's Debauchery'. Great sound (slight echo). Some sound weirdness during the talking on the last two tracks. (David mentions that the roadies are "having a little fun"). (#5)

Jimi Hendrix
Date Venue City State Media Type Media Count SHN Info Notes
04/12/68 Jimi's room - Drake Hotel New York NY shn 1 (1s/1a) Jimi's analog rig. Supposedly from Jimi's apartment. (You can hear him flipping pages, the phone ringing, etc.) The vocals are 95% on the left channel, so if you just want to listen to the guitar, you're in luck! (#8)

Oysterhead
Date Venue City State Media Type Media Count SHN Info Notes
03/02/00 The Barn Burlington VT shn 1 (1s/1a) dsbd. 4 tracks-- no vocals-- recorded in Trey's barn. (Studio outtakes from the Oysterhead CD?) Flawless sound... perfect for Oysterhead karaoke (if you're into that sort of thing) (#9)

08/23/68 Hollywood Bowl Hollywood CA shn 1 (1s/1a) asbd. Good sound for a recording of its age. One dropout of a few seconds during talking on t13. Liberated bootleg-- Voices of Intelligent Dissent. Cover art. (#13)
11/09/69 Miami University Oxford OH shn 1 (1s/1a) asbd. Vocals occasionally clipped, a few other glitches, but overall an excellent show. Full backing band. A fair amount of audience banter. Liberated bootleg-- Back to College. (#9)
05/??/70 Unknown Paris France shn 1 (1s/1a) asbd. The show is actually from May 1970. Sound is occasionally clipped, few other glitches. Liberated bootleg-- So Long Artie (aka Live in Paris). (#10)

The Rat Pack
Date Venue City State Media Type Media Count SHN Info Notes
06/20/65 Kiel Opera House St. Louis MO shn 1 (1s/1a) closed-circuit theater broadcast (equivalent to sbd mixed with crowd noise). Great quality considering the age. (#8)

Weezer
Date Venue City State Media Type Media Count SHN Info Notes
08/17/96 Bizzare Festival Köln Germany shn 1 (1s/1a) sbd/crowd mix (from TV broadcast). A couple of dropouts, and the track breaks aren't perfect (a tiny bit of silence between each track). Pretty good source for a Weezer show though! Tracks 11 and 12 are filler from another Weezer performance. (#10)
