Grateful Dead, California State College Soccer Field, Dominguez Hills, Carson, CA, 1990-05-05 (96/24)

Notes:

Part of the Original Master Rescue Project. Cassette Master off a previously unreleased DAT. Rare enough recording, none on etree and perhaps 5 on Archive.org, none from this provenance / set of Mics. Thank you, Richard Berner!

Was a hot day out, 105°. Broadcast on KPFK. Attended by Bear, Tim Leary & Terence McKenna, and perhaps other... attendees, if you believe the Archive notes. Phil is especially prominent in this pure FOB audience mix. Some great solos (Loose Lucy) and, The Race Is On, as well as some outdoor clarity. Very Nice Playing/Uncle John's jams.

Source: B&K 4011 Cardioids, ORTF, 5' Tall Stand, front-of-board -> ProLink Cables -> Neumann Power Supply -> DAT TCD-10 -> Beta -> Nak 682ZX -> TDK SAX 90 Cassette Tape -> JVC TD-W354 -> Zoom H6 96/24 WAV -> Audacity -> FLAC 96/24.

Only posting in 96/24 to keep the sound quality up, feel free to convert it if you like, but you should not... Use a computer and a good FLAC player and a good sound system, loud, and welcome to the modern age! If not, and you have your heart set, I hear there are open-source CD-burners that convert on the fly. Mastered with Bose Quiet-Comfort 20 Headphones with NC on.

Thanks, Pete-O!
