I heard the following 2 stories about why Gregg left this show and am not sure which is the truth. Maybe it's a little of both?

Story 1:
Gregg was drunk off his ass. When the band invited Page McConnell
of Phish to come out, Gregg split and grabbed a cab outside.
After the song that Page was supposed to sit in on ended, they all
looked around for Gregg and they took a quick break. Page finished
the show. That was when Gregg decided to clean up. Warren takes over
lead vocals for Whipping Post & One Way Out.

Story 2:
Gregg broke his rib in a bike crash. Dickey mentions this between You Don't Love Me and Ramblin' Man.
