Notes:

There was a low hum throughout the show and unfortunately it comes
through on the recording. It's most noticable between songs and other
quiet spots. The hum got really bad during The Field. Scott
Allshouse pulled a wire from the back of John Rider's equipment stack
which improved things. X asked, "Did you guys hear that? ha! Did
we ever! It was much worse in the room than on the recording.
Mark and Scott Allshouse were both playing on borrowed equipment.
Due to the co-billing with Reid Genaur and the really tough setup at
BB King's for loading in and out, it was much easier this way. Mark
played on Nate Wilson's rig. There was a B3, a clavinet, and an
electric piano (I can't recall what it was). The "leslie" on the B3
was really evident.. Mark coaxed the best out of this gear,
too.......
The crowd topped out at less than 200 people, most of whom didn't
seem to have seen Max Creek before. Almost all of them were dancing
hard from the Field until the end. All in all, a solid show and a
great time for me. Especially since it was so close to home.
Do your best to find the recording of 11/29/03. Five times as far a
drive for me, but the whole experience was like night and day. This
show at BB King's was rock solid Max Creek. The next night was one
of those nights where everything clicks. Over the top, as is
sometimes said. But I guess that's for another .txt file.....
