JR Fishmans notes:
Last fall I noticed a copy going around on etree that was
inferior to the copy that Dougal generously gave me. The etree copy
had a thin, compressed FM sound to it.

I had a DAT of 6/9/77 for several years from a close friend and transferred this to CD.
This copy, though not pristine, is a substantial upgrade. It is from
a 1st gen reel, was transferred to PCM and then to DAT. I
transferred the DAT to CD using an Fostex D10 professional DAT recorder to an
hhb 800 professional stand-alone player. I did not do any editting (i.e. Cool Edit)

This copy has warmer and fuller 1977-esque sound than the etree version .
The quiter songs sound lovely !!!!
