10/31/73 The Record Plant, Sausalito, CA  1  This is the correct date for the show that's often mislabeled 12/73 KSAN radio broadcast - the air date was 12/02/73 but it was recorded on 10/31/73. This was recorded shortly after the Wailers were kicked off the Sly & The Family Stone tour for actually drawing more attention than Sly. They were stranded and the K-SAN station booked them at the Matrix Club as well as giving them this Radio time. Lineup: Bob Marley: Guitar and Vocals Peter Tosh: Rhythm Guitar and Vocal Earl 'Wire' Lindo: Keyboards Aston 'Family Man' Barrett: Bass Carlton Barrett: Drums "Walk The Proud Land" is the same song as "Rude Boy", with slightly different text written by Bunny Wailer, but here Bob is singing his lyrics version, so it's called "Rude Boy". After "Rastaman Chant" there's the instrumental jam of "Keep The Faith".

04/22/78 OLPC National Heroes Stadium, Kingston, Jamaica  1  This was Bob's first show back in Jamaica after the attempt on his life in December 1976. The original Wailers reunited for the show. During the song "Jammin'", Bob called up the Prime Minister, Michael Manley, and the opposition party leader, Edward Seaga, to join hands and show their faith in the peace. After a few moments of waiting, they joined hands with Bob and sang "One Love". Lineup: Dennis Brown, Ras Michael & the Sons of Negus, Big Youth, Peter Tosh, Leroy Smart and Ron Wood

Updated June 2004: For years this show has been confused with the 6-13-80 Rockplast show in Dortmund, Germany. The setlists in the DB were identical. It was impressive to see him replace it in almost under a minute. Del threw in some 'The Ballad of John Henry' lyrics to help out. Del forgot the last verse to 'Cold Hard Facts'.

07/06/02 Private Party, Hinesburg, VT  2  Rob Dasaro - keys, vocals Steve Drebber - drums, vocals Jim Tasse - bass, vocals with special guests Trey Anastasio - guitar "Mr. Charlie" Frazier - blues harp Background on the show & cds, provided by Steve Drebber : Two days before Doctor Jones was supposed to play at this private party our guitar player Casey Grant's father-in-law died suddenly. We knew our college friend Trey was going to be at the party and asked if he would play a few songs with us to fill the guitar slot. Trey showed up and encouraged everyone to to try mezcal shots with listerine cool mint gel tabs on their tongues. Trey dubbed the new drink sensation a "chrysalis". The mezcal combined with some excellent brownies inspired the interpration of the music. Trey had never heard the original tunes that we ran through that night, and probably had not played many of the cover tunes in years. The show is loose but provides several moments of great jamming. It is an interesting historical document at any rate. Presently there are fewer than 20 copies in circulation (Jan 2003).

11/13/99 House of Blues [w/ C Average], Chicago, IL  1  Ed comes out smiling, very happy, with a new acoustic guitar. He performs 'Last Kiss' solo and talks a bit about Walter Payton's death, which leads him to a discussion about how it make him think about dying and what you do will all your stuff when you die. (2,560k) He does a little improv (which he calls a "new song" he just wrote, that no one has ever heard "unless you were on my hotel balcony"). Telling the very (loud) talkative audience that they'll like this, "it has a punch line," he performs this little song about stuff, and people you love, and what happens to it all; the punchline in question is, "Oh, I hope I don't die, but if I do, I'm gonna leave it all to The Who." (2,827k) He then asks the audience if he should switch to electric or if they want to hear "Small Town" (Ed's name for "Elderly Woman"). He's trying to get the guitar to sound good, and holds it up and tells everyone proudly that this is new, it used to belong to Pete, and that his wife bought it for him at an auction on Thursday night. He tells how the bidding was going very very high, and that she turned to him and said, "A banker is *not* going home with that guitar!" This leads to 'Elderly Woman' and then Ed brings out Jon and Brad. They are VERY on and even do the 'Untitled' song from Live on Two Legs, seemingly note for note. (2,005k) Ed has painted his black Schecter with "Walter Payton #34." Like the previous night, they do 'Wishlist' with Jon taking the guitar solo on bass. Leading to 'Patriot': "If you're from Chicago, I love ya; if you're a Who fan, I love ya." [By the way, The Who were fantastic, and once again Ed comes on with Jon and Brad for "Let's See Action"; Ed has some problems with Roger's teleprompter not scrolling fast enough, but it's still great fun for all.]

10/31/01 The Fillmore Auditorum, Denver, CO  2  Comments: Trey wore Fishman's signature dress, Les wore a pig mask for the first two songs, then a wore a black hat. Stewart's face was painted camoflauge. %Trey quotes much of "Stash" in jam *The Kinks cover (Trey sang) **The Police cover (Les sang 1 verse) # Trey was very chatty. He played his "musical costume" and sang lyrics to several Jon Fishman classics including "Love You," "Bike," and "Cracklin' Rosie." Trey then mentioned that "you too can buy the new medley of Jon Fishman covers for only $19.99, via K-Tel Records!" ##Trey then introduced Les as "someone who really sucks" and then introduced Stewart and said "When I was 15 years old, my biggest dream in life was to play in a band with this guy, and I will say that, so this is my 15 year old cream dream, Stewart 'The Guy Who Sold Way More Records Then Me Or Les' Copeland!"

This one's for you, sir" ^ ended, with the band walking offstage, with the Trey loop that begins the track on the studio release Thanks to Ellis and Phish.net who thank Hal.

This show featured the first known performance of Camel Walk and the first known Phish performances of Wild Child, Bertha, Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Eyes of the World, and Whipping Post (which featured Jeff on vocals). CYHMK included a St. Stephen tease. Copies of this performance often circulate with the incorrect date of November 3, 1983.
