AA | Remastered by Dan Lore as 'SAB 10'. DJ banter
is kept but the commercials are removed.
With Dan's own words:
- The levels on 'Squonk' have been evened out
to match the rest of the show. The 'squeals'
are still there, but are a little less obvious.
- This show was in some serious need of bottom
end. This has been added. (For those of you
with a subwoofer, this show will give it a bit
of a workout.) |

I Got this show from a italian trader in the late 70s there are a few problems with it
1st the last part of your own special way is missing ( could be a tape flip on master
2nd the talking intro's to the following are missing
In That Quiet Earth
The Carpet Crawlers
All In A Mouse's Night
Supper's Ready
also in between songs for some reason in the background it sounds like the p.a is coming over the sound system but all the songs are fine ive had a few copies of this show and this sounds the best ive heard ive not seen it on any tracker

Nakamichi Dragon
Both theses decks are considered to be the best Tape decks ever made both have auto tape Azimuth
Alinement which will be used on all transfers. Both Decks have been Up-dated and serviced by
trained Nakamichi specialists.
I have for the past 6 month been trying out and expermenting with theses decks and
they are well worth the money amazing sound ( And should be for the money they cost ).
All the tape transfers that are done through my Yamaha Reciever are done via the pure direct
button ( all the displays on the reciever and tape deck are switched off ). so there is then no
interferance via the electrical circuritry.
All tapes are wound forward and backward at least 4 times before i transfer them to avoid
tape slack.

8.5 | Source graciously provided by: AV
Speed correction, phase restoration and overall tech support: TM Productions
All other remastering phases: SAB Recordings
When I first heard this show about two years ago, I was at first surprised that it had surfaced (like most of you) and was somewhat disappointed that a then rare soundboard recording from this amazing tour sounded, well, like crap. I later obtained AV's version which corrected a lot of issues with the original recording I had received, but still lacked in many areas sonically. (To my ears anyway.) In August of this year, I began the undertaking that would result in the remastered show that you're now listening to. After obtaining AV's permission to use his corrected and edited version of his recording, I began with EQing the show properly, which in turn increased the hiss level of an already hissy recording. This was corrected with both Waves X-Noise and Soundsoap Pro plug-ins. After adding compression and limiting (and a few other ingredients) a version was sent out for review to about six sets of ears, one set of which belonged to Tom Morgenstern of TM Productions. TM made a few suggestions to improve the source, with phase and speed correction being the key fixes needed. After TM completed his work using CEDAR, the files were sent back to me for final tweaks. Minor EQ adjustments were made to bring up the bass and mid sections, and reverb was added to remove some of the 'dry' sound. There are two edits, one on each disc, which were necessary for missing (non musical) material. The edits were completed via crossfades. Yes, there is still some hiss on this recording, as going further would have created sonic artifacts. Now this version is by no means the definitive version of this show, but I believe it's the best that we have for now.
Many thanks go to AV for providing a well edited source, to the Meeks Genesis boys for the use of their ears, and especially to TM Productions for his work, suggestions and tech support. The final result could not have been achieved
without TM's help. |

Here's the classic Genesis show from the Knebworth Festival in 1978. There many versions of this running around...this was from a tape trade years back, but was dubbed directly from a boot CD, so the sound is fantastic. There was a good amount of hiss on the recording though, which I tried to remove as much as possible, and I boosted the volume slightly to add a bit of punch to it.

It's a good documentation from the 1978 tour when Peter came on for this one night only. It was nice to hear him sing "I Know What I Like" with the band again after almost 4 or 5 years.

Speed corrected, Re-indexed and sorted out a few things including Discovery of 2 tracks* attached at the end of the original Firth of Fifth file, THEN I EQ'ed to taste, Applied a little compression to tighten down the bass frequencies, did a 'lite' hiss reduction, ROIGHT, then the 97.6 hz hum throughout the entire thing has been subdued to more tolerable levels...
I also diveed up the 2 sides so they'd both fit nicely on 2 audio discs.

A+ | THE SOUND TREATMENT PROCESS
I tried really to bring out the best of this one. I was standing to the left
of the stage. The right channel had lots of echo from the venue.
I prepared two versions of the raw source. One with more echo and one that
sounds closer. I doubled the left channel for that purpose to the right.
I brought out the bass a little and my special sound treatment so that it
sounds just fine to my ears. I used some Soundforge filters for that,
with settings adapted for this recording.
With both versions I was not satisfied. So I decided to do a matrix of these
two masters. With Adobe Audition I mixed the two together. The finishing
touch was done with Soundforge again, to correct some loud clapping and
adjust the volume level.

After extracting the tracks of the CD's to my HD I noticed I could improve the sound a little by adding a little more "middle" to it. That makes the sound clearer and you hear Phil's voice a little better. So... I did
