09/18/71 Unknown DVD 1 A/A From the seeder: Captain Beyond DVD Montreux 1971-09-18 Pro Shot Lineage: 2nd/3rd(?) gen VHS => Pinnacle Expression 2.2.1.2 => DVD 1. I Can't Feel Nothin' (10:09) 2. Dancing Madly Backwards (10:43) I got this in a trade and converted to DVD thusly: Toshiba Hi-Fi VHS to Sony Handycam TRV350 using standard audio cables, then from the Sony to the Dell PC via Firewire. I used Pinnacle Expression to create the disc image and a basic menu page. This is a pro-shot video, so there is obviously a better version available somewhere, but I wanted to put this up since there is so very little Captain Beyond material out there. As might be expected, the image is a little grainy, no doubt due to generational loss, but is nonetheless quite watchable. The audio is comparable to the "Completer" torrent which surfaced recently, although there are a few clicks in spots. Again, considering the lineage, not bad at all, IMHO.

10/26/05 Madison Square Garden DVD 1 A Cream Cream: Macrocosm Wednesday October 26, 2005 - Audience Recording Mid Valley Records Ltd. Ed Number 164 Artwork: Included Liberated bootleg: rburly My silver DVD > Copied VIDEO_TS folder > VIDEO_TS folder scans and video copy by rburly (rdb25@hotmail.com) This is the 3rd and final night of Cream at MSG in NYC. As indicated in the track listing, the first song & a half are from a previous night. Once the camera for this show is fully functional during "Spoonful" its a very interesting capture of the show. It may be the best of all 3 nights, or you may have a different opinion. With that said, lets get this party started. Be patient (a quality I need to work on with these video torrents) & your time & efforts will pay off. Its been a fun ride. You now have everything (at least its available) that Mid Valley put out for Cream at MSG. I think you'll enjoy this (yes I realize its an understatement!)! NTSC Single-camera Setlist: 01. I'm So Glad (initially no video, then a single frame of Jack (with audio), then at about 1:43 video from 10/25) 02. Then, an unique note at approximately 1 minute intervals on the video soundtrack was found and matched to the same note from the sbd. Some modification (ie stretching or shrinking) to the length of these segment was required in order for the sbd to flawlessly match the captured video. The original video audience track was then mixed and both tracks imported as background music prior to creating the master dvd. The video was captured at 720x480 resolution (DVD) at 4500bits\sec to create the original mpeg2 file. After the sound was imported and the dvd burned, the mpeg2 file was rendered to 352x240 to make VCD disks. Takes either (1) dvds or (1) vcds. How was the sound mixed??? I'm almost afraid to say considering how much more experience there is in sound production within the grateful dead trading community that I almost feel like a child just playing with blocks in comparison. This is what I did though: The video sound was mostly low end and muffled - probably due to generation loss during transfers. The only other source is an audience from a teddy goodbear boombox recording that is very metallic and mostly high end - the compendium gave it a C. I removed some hiss from the video track (probably caused by multigeneration transfers) and then where no audience existed boosted the signal to 75% peak. Both channels from the video are identical. Teddy was pretty quick on the pause button, so the audience is cut drastically between songs - during these patches only the video sound exists. The audience recording also has identical left and right channels. Where both video and audience exist - I mixed them together as follows: Left channel: video boosted to 75% peak and audience reduced to 50% peak Right channel: video boosted to 50% peak and audience reduced to 75% peak The resulting mix gives an illusion that there is a difference between the channels and seems to be much fuller than either source alone. Audio\Video Flaws: 1) The first 1 minute 04.013 seconds of the start of the video were added from the video soundtrack to give a better lead in. 2) Teddy's audience track was mixed during the entire Estimated Prophit and stops 10.984 seconds after the end of the song. 3) The next 2 minutes 22 seconds of the video have only the video soundtrack. There is a half second splice in the video after this. 4) When the video restarts, Teddy's audience track was mixed during the entire Deal and stops 7.140 seconds after the end of the song. 5) The next 5.237 seconds of the video have only the video soundtrack. There is a 0.300 second splice in the video after this to end the set. 6) The next 2 minutes 10.064 seconds of the video have only the video soundtrack. 7) 11.007 seconds before Good Lovin' starts, Teddy's audience track is avaiable. It was mixed in during the entire Good Lovin' and stops 2.120 seconds after the end of the song. 8) The next 1 minutes 40.322 seconds of the video have only the video soundtrack. 9) 3.189 seconds before Mississippi Halfstep starts, Teddy's audience is avaiable. It was mixed in during the entire song and stops 13.234 seconds after the end of the song. 10) The next 2 minutes 10.830 seconds of the video have only the video soundtrack. 11) 14.582 seconds before Dancin' In The Streets starts, Teddy's audience is avaiable. It was mixed in during the rest of the video (Dancin'>Drums>Eyes//. 12) Video is cut after about 1 minute 30 seconds into Eyes. End Credits Notes: Once again our friends in Japan come thru with a top notch capture. This show was broadcast live on Japanese TV on June 2nd 1999. Shame on whoever in Jeff's camp was responsible for holding this back from being officially released as a live DVD. It couldn't be stressed enough that this is a MUST for any fan of Jeff's or any guitar drooler. On this night Jeff is at the top of his game; his strat tone as full as you'll ever hear it (except of course live in an an acoustically superb environment). This is the maestro in full flight. Brush With The Blues is a marvel - crank this one up especially to experience Jeff's touch, tone, control and dynamics. Star Cycle's solo is as fiesty as you'll ever hear it. A Day In The Life displays the emotion that can be wrought out of a block of wood with six strings. Big Block is spit out with Hendrixian hoodoo voodoo. If you pass this up you'll only have yourself to blame! Unfortunately the TV broadcast was 90 minutes long, so this is not the complete concert. One song left out was Where Were You Maybe one day the rest will surface.

Video and audio are excellent considering the date of this show. Brought to you by "The Tullavision Crew" with special thanks to Laufi. Please note there is a watermark in the upper right corner that is present throughout the DVD. I don't find it particularly bothersome but purists beware. Only about half the concert (first half, 62 min) is included and it is advertised as "Part One" although part two may not actually exist. Overall this is an outstanding DVD and should be well worth the download for Tull fans, however keep in mind this was not filmed to be shown as a concert video but for display on the big screen above the stage so that those in the far away seats could have some closeup views. There is much more info on the DVD as well as bonus tracks. Below is an excerpt from the press release. Enjoy. BTW: Artwork is here --> http://www.thetradersden.org/forums...ead.php?t=18108 ================================= Some details about the video: We got the recording on a 3/4" beta u-matic video tape, which is a broadcast format of the 70's. The tape -a master tape- was recorded from the video mag feed of a 1976 Tullavision show (Tampa Stadium, Florida, July 31). It is pro-shot and has soundboard audio and it is -even if probably not properly stored in the last 29 years- in overall excellent condition. The 62 mins. tape was professionally transferred to digital betacam (recent broadcast format), the audio has already been professionally re-mastered. 02/19/87 The Palomino DVD 1 A- The 1987 Taj Mahal concert at the Palomino turned into a historical event when 3 members of the audience made their way to the stage for an impromptu jam. The 3 were Dylan, George Harrison, and John Fogerty. Taj & George do most of the singing. Taj plays harp. Dylan plays guitar, but sings nothing but a couple of back-up wails on 4 or 5 tunes. (Harrison sings Watching The River Flow). The highlight of the show is Fogerty singing Proud Mary ("'Cause Bob Dylan asked me to do this ... Holy Mackerel!"). Setlist: Farther On Down The Road (T.Mahal) Matchbox (Carl Perkins) Knock On Wood (Crooper/Floyd) Midnight Hour (Crooper/Pickett) Honey Don't (Carl Perkins) Blue Suede Shoes (Carl Perkins) Watching The River Flow (Dylan) Proud Mary (J. Most of it is pro-shot, live footage of the band, but there are some other graphics used. For instance, much of Hatian Divorce features the old Carmen Miranda footage we all saw behind the band at the show. Video quality is top-notch, better than the Camden video that has been floating around. Sound quality is excellent soundboard, nice mix, doesn?t sound distorted to my ears. Pro-Shot. 2 DVD Set. 02/21/73 Santa Monica Civic Center DVD 1 A/A DV21 Traffic Santa Monica Civic Center - Santa Monica, CA 02/21/1972 Source: Pro-Shot (Unknown Source) > DVD PC authored with menu. Tracklist: 1 The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys 2 Light Up or Leave Me Alone 3 John Barleycorn Rainmaker 4 Glad/Rainmaker 5 Forty Thousand Headmen 6 Dear Mr. Fanrtasy Review by Bruce Eder Traffic left behind precious few concert videos in any form, so this show, from the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, is an intrinsically valuable document of the band, even though it does feature a later lineup: Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood, Rebop Kwakubaah, Roger Hawkins, and David Hood. Chronologically, the show comes roughly a year later than the Welcome to the Canteen album. At 65 minutes running time, they include "The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys," "John Barleycorn," "Rainmaker," "Glad," "Freedom Rider," "Forty Thousand Headmen," and "Dear Mr. Fantasy," all of which are worthwhile although also curiously lacking in the urgency that one would hope for in a concert performance. There are some many wonderful shots of the band members from varied angles and all kinds of different lighting, even within the same song, courtesy of video producer Taylor Hackford (White Nights, Against All Odds) but, in fact, this wasn't the ideal version of the group to capture on stage: Winwood had suffered a serious illness the year before, the group was always in a state of flux as far as its line-up was concerned, and they were entering the period of decline that would coincide with the recording of Shootout at the Fantasy Factory. The musicianship is there, found intact in the thick electric guitar textures of "Light Up or Leave Me," Winwood's acoustic guitar performance on "John Barleycorn," and Wood's spotlighted flute and sax work on "Rainmaker." But one also gets the sense that a lot of excitement was disappearing for the players, apart from Rebop Kwaku Baah, in what Winwood later described as a grind of touring and recording. It's not a bad video, and well worth tracking down as a document of the group; the sound is very good (especially for the period in which it was recorded), and it would make a good DVD, but one wishes a full-length video of a show from perhaps a year, or two, or three earlier could have found its way into existence. Originally available through RCA Columbia, but packaged by Pacific Arts, this long out of print video was apparently owned by Island Records, and may have reverted to them, which means that it is now somewhere in MCA's vast holdings of the Polygram Records conglomerate (which bought Island); finding a used copy or getting someone to dub off the laser disc might be easier than waiting for it to be rediscovered by its current owners.
