| 05/03/63 | Studs Terkel's Wax Museum | CDR | 1 | A | Studs Terkel's Wax Museum source: 1963 Radio Interview -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tracks: Introduction Farewell Hard Rain Bob Dylan's Dream Boots Of Spanish Leather John Brown Who Killed Davey Moore? Blowin' In The Wind -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Review: The 1963 Terkel performance and interview is a must have for any serious collector. Bob has come into his own as a performer even at this early date. The songs are well done, and Bob's wit shines through on the interview. This CD is the one to own. Yellow Dog has removed most of the tape hiss of what was already a very nice sounding line recording, and it now sounds better than ever. The colorized cover is gorgeous. The package photos and aesthetics alone would make this one worth the price. | |

| 11/15/78 | Fabulous Forum | CDR | 2 | 11/15/1978 L.A. Forum Setlist and Information Show Information This is an outstanding stereo audience tape of a particularly hot 1978 show. Dylan traditionally plays a hot show in L.A. and this one is no exception. Included are several little story-intros to many of the songs. The sound quality on this show is exceptional, especially for a 1978 audience tape. Originally recorded on a UHER 240 Stereo Porta Deck with 2 Sennheiser MKH 404 Mics. Donated to the tree by toadismckeever. Extra Information The volume is low for the first 20 seconds on the first track of cd 1. Artwork available at McForce's site. Sign-up Dates: CLOSED! He asked to borrow it and took it home and did a 24 bit digital transfer from the mono 7" open reel. This hasn't been heard by many more people than Brad, myself and a few others in 30 years!!! I was pretty damn excited about the discovery and glad that I was only the second person that had heard it counting Brad after he mastered the tape. As far as I know at this point it's Jerry Garcia, Buddy Cage and other members of NRPS. Other than that that's all I know right now. The Grateful Dead's archives don't even have this tape. Pretty fun stuff to listen too even though it's a lot of noodling and such. I kinda like it myself. Everything was plugged straight into the open reel deck. So the source would be: 7" mono open reel > 24 bit transfer > resample > CD-R Additional Info: The following info was provided by John Boland (thanks Bro!): 1) Date of this jam is likely 12/8/71, 12/9/71 or 12/10/71, as the Dead & NRPS played the Fox in St. Louis on around those dates. 2) Players on the discs more than likely include: Garcia, Weir, Buddy Cage, John Dawson. In addition, there also could be Dave Nelson & Dave Torbert, but it is hard to say with just noodling. 3) The last song on the disc, "Seasons" is sung by Weir, and was featured a few times by the Dead in the early 70's acoustic sets. | ||

| 11/29/01 | Theater of the Living Arts | cdr | 2 | A | There are a few very minor static glitches, and a few other very minor glitches in certain tracks. They all sound like a source problem rather than any copying errors. All of the problems are very minor, and nearly unnoticable, and it is still a wonderful recording and a downright awesome show. If you like Soulive, or if want to hear them, take my advice and trade for this show! The flaws are minor, and Soulive is amazing! Many tracks have a guest sax player. Also, a note about the flaws. Like I said, it sounds like a source problem. I was at this show, and I only saw one single taper. These cds came straight from him, to my friend, to me. So, I personally doubt that there are any better copies around, unless there was another taper somewhere that I did not notice. | |
