The above splices from the alternative 2-Track sources were edited and patched by myself using Cool Edit 2000 FFT filters, Normalize/Amplification and Time/Pitch functions.
A replicated section of crowd noise after King Bee was removed by me and a repeating error at the end of Dark Star was fixed by Jack Warner.
I also re-tracked most of the show after completing the above edits.

There is a brief, "fuzzy crackle" at the very beginning of each of the discs. On the first and third disc, this brief crackle occurs before the music starts, but on the 2nd disc, the music starts immediately, so the crackle hits the opening note or two of the music ("Loser"). But the crackle is very brief -- a second or less.

Comments: The material missing from the Soundboard source during
Estimated and Around & Around due to master reel flips was spliced
in by Scott Clugston from his copy of the Jerry Moore-recorded Master Audience Cassette: Sony ECM-33p mics > Sony TC-158 > D source.
Specifically, the audience source supplies patches in
"Estimated Prophet" (d3t02) from 0:48 thru 1:10, as well as in
"Around & Around" (d3t06) from 2:39 thru 3:07.
Additionally, Scott smoothed out the gaps/noise caused by the
master reels being turned off/on in between songs and removed a
handful of minor "pops", "ticks" and "clicks" that were present
between songs.
With the Aud patches, disc 3 now runs 74:12
Finally, several versions of this show simultaneously entered circulation in early February, 2001. This copy is derived from the
version that was initially circulated by aoxoa and shn'ed from
aoxoa's master cds by direwolf. As initially circulated, this version
lacked the audience splices and the reel pause edits. The aud splices
were added to the extracted shns and the between-song reel pauses,
"pops", "ticks" and "clicks" were removed from the extracted shns
using cooledit pro, and the shns were then re-split using cdwav.
The integrity of the sector boundaries was confirmed using shntool.
The other version, circulated by David Gans, was supposedly derived from the aoxoa-sourced dat and was not used for this distribution
because a) it was supposedly subject to digital equalization and b)
the missing material caused by the reel flips on the Gans-seeded
version were patched with soundboard recordings from other May, 1977
performances.
Seeded to Etree on 2/22/2001 by Darrin (dnsacks@usa.net)
HUGE thanks to aoxoa, Scott Clugston, and direwolf for their
considerable efforts to get this GREAT show into circulation in
all of its glory. ENJOY! |

to make these splices as transparent as possible. Patches are
found on the following tracks:
Disc 1

Disc2
d2t01 12:38.22 -> 12:59.69

Still, I don't like that. I like the songs to be played in the order in which they were played. So I reorganized it, but that did require splitting up Moth > Meat. I think it works good. But if you would like it the way it is circulating, please let me know and I'll happily send you the original discs that were sent to me (Sonys).
The entire first disc is set one, in which moe. performs the entire Dark Side of the Moon album.

Sounds great Except for D3 t7 (Old Home Place) and 8 (amazing Grace) are muted due to accapella.
These are pretty much indistinguishable here and prolly better left off or edited. This show is from DanG
at Dylan and his copy is the same.

This is the first time i've heard this, but thousands have ask me
about it over the years. To me it captures the true spirit of Phish.
It happened as we were walking to the bus to leave the venue. somebody
said play us one and we said sure and the roadies got our stuff. i was
already holding my banjo which probably started the whole thing. I was
on tour with them to teach them bluegrass and had been playing with
them on stage some at night. Hoist was being released at the time and
i actually played with them on that material at night as well as the
bgrass set. though they really didn't know bgrass and had just been
playing for a short while, this truly captured the spirit of the music
because of their openess, talent, and what i call that "wonderful
phish curiosity". i was touched to hear this because when you boil it
all down this is what it's all about. the people just want to hear the
music and truly i didn't wanna leave. you can hear the joy. i lead the
jam as phish had never really done that before. when we got on the bus
they were so happy that we did it and i think they felt, maybe for the
first time, the true spirit of what bgrass and folk music is all about.
the jam turned out to be the most important thing that i taught them.
thanks for sharing it. i am touched.
Truly,
"rev" Jeff Mosier

Festival show. Good recording!
This is the only known copy. However, this shows has a few flaws. During "Rivertrance" there is a 4-5 sec dropout, and another Dropout later on thich is less than 1 sec. This however is a great sounding show. |

# - First time played by Trey's band (original).
* - First time played (The Band cover).
** - First time played (Amos Milburn and His Aladdin Chickenshackers
cover).
$ - reggae instrumental
+ - Trey solo acoustic (then Tony and Russ came back out, and Trey
played 2 lines of Zappa's "Cosmic Debris" on the guitar, and said,
"that's a real poncho")
*** - First time played (Oysterhead song); Trey and Tony acoustic;
Tony spoke about Phish being nominated for the Grammys (which were
being
presented that night).
$$ - instrumental
^ - with Trey on keys
^^ - horns only
^^^ - instrumental (horns, Trey acoustic, Tony string bass, no
drums); Trey explained that this is the follow-up to "At the Barbecue,"
and then introduced the horn section and Tony. Then he told of a
performance by Tony in 1983 (at Hunt's with Kilminjaro and Big Joe's
Unknown Blues Band, when Trey first visited UVM), and said Tony's
grooving was a major reason he chose to attend UVM. (Trey also said
that
the next song was inspired by Captain Kevin with the 60-foot boat.)
^^^^ - Trey and Tony acoustic
$$$ - Followed by Tony introducing the band, and then Trey as the
guy
who was crushed that they lost out to Metallica at the Grammy's
tonight;
Tony also said that Boston is the richest musical city in the world,
and
that the audience should support local clubs.
Trey had three acoustic guitars, and one electric (tannish, possibly
the
new one).
