AWESOME quality. See: http://db.etree.org/shninfo_detail.php?shnid=3281 for more info
"Killer show. It was 10 stage mics and 6! Room mics. There are reflections from every angle. There was a snake running out to a remote truck. The circulating copies are not remixed from the ADATs they recorded to (which are in the vaults) but simply the on the fly mix from the 6 room mics and 10 stage mics. Great quality."

My Sweet One performed acoustic and without mics, inaudible, and
missing from recording.
Carolina also performed without mics, missing.
2 flaws occur in the original recording that should be noted...
First few seconds of Stash are missing. Also, there are a few seconds missing from the middle
of Fluffhead, right before Bundle Of Joy.
Both of these flaws are because of analog tape flips on the original
recording, and are very quick. Frankly, the quality of the recording
more than makes up for it!

This is the first time i've heard this, but thousands have ask me
about it over the years. To me it captures the true spirit of Phish.
It happened as we were walking to the bus to leave the venue. somebody
said play us one and we said sure and the roadies got our stuff. i was
already holding my banjo which probably started the whole thing. I was
on tour with them to teach them bluegrass and had been playing with
them on stage some at night. Hoist was being released at the time and
i actually played with them on that material at night as well as the
bgrass set. though they really didn't know bgrass and had just been
playing for a short while, this truly captured the spirit of the music
because of their openess, talent, and what i call that "wonderful
phish curiosity". i was touched to hear this because when you boil it
all down this is what it's all about. the people just want to hear the
music and truly i didn't wanna leave. you can hear the joy. i lead the
jam as phish had never really done that before. when we got on the bus
they were so happy that we did it and i think they felt, maybe for the
first time, the true spirit of what bgrass and folk music is all about.
the jam turned out to be the most important thing that i taught them.
thanks for sharing it. i am touched.
Truly,
"rev" Jeff Mosier

The patch recording was done in the OTS 3rd row, center at: 103deg/10in.
Minor Edits: Fades in/out beg/end of sets--5 sec in all cases
Encore is patched from Craig Hillwig's OTS Schoeps source, due to issues with
the FOB source encore. All patching was done in SF5.0 at 48k.
Both the 'fixed'/'unfixed' versions circulate w/ the 48k .shn's.
Patch done via crossfade in the crowd noise between set 3 and encore
with the following settings: overlapping duration of 40.448s,with the source
going from -infdb to 0db and the destination going from 0db to -infdb.
Taper: Eliot Byron (all except encore) and Craig Hillwig (encore)
Huge thanks to Eliot who supplied the DATs for this transfer.
Thanks to Chill for the taping/transfer of the patch.
Transferred and uploaded by Jim Raras via Dankseeds
Please contact me with questions etc. There are also 48k shn's of this seed for archival.

"This seed has a few flaws I have found so far on disk 1. There is a slight static fm reception burst in PYITE(d1t02), and there is a loud pop, which may possibly be a chanel swap caused by the za2 at 7.45 in Stash(d1t05)."

The Great Went (Day Two). *With a "Cities" jam. **The band members take turns painting large designs at the side of the stage. Then, the crowd "carries" the pieces of this design to the side of the venue where it is assembled and hoisted for everyone to see onto a tower. This wood tower is tall and covered in painted plywood and has been built during the two shows. As "Harry Hood" goes into its jam, Trey asks Chris to turn the lights off, and the band jams while the front section has a gigantic Glow Stick War. Trey tells the crowd at the end of the jamto "go and get more of those, because that was cool." #No Muel Duel. ^The entire art tower was burned to the ground. |

tweak the EQ on yer listnin' device. A great show for Trey freaks since he is

I would describe all of these problems as minor. The sound quality of this show is quite good. None of the squeaks or pops are loud and, in fact, most are nearly inaudible.
