10/16/79 Towson Center - Towson University shn 1 A
11/02/79 Hammersmith Odeon shn 1 Okay Everyone, this concert was originally pressed on LP by the BBC as a promo copy for radio stations. I found it at my local record store about 15 years ago. The sound is great but the record does skip a few times but I did not want to risk cleaning it and end up damaging it in the process. I hope this will make all of you ACDC fans happy. Enjoy the show
11/17/83 Joe Louis Arena vcd 1 A- An amazing show from one of the best AC/DC tours ever. This is not the entire show but it's all that exists. I recorded this off a TV broadcast (ZTV in Sweden). The mastertape was used for the broadcast so the quality is fantastic. I used VirtualDub and the PICVideo codec (set on 19) to capture it to AVI. I then used TMPGEnc to make the MPEG file. The compression is much better than the Rolling Stones Knebworth ?76 VCD (that I received from a trade) I shared some days ago. Enjoy!

08/01/73 Roosevelt Stadium Flac 2 Downloaded from STG on 10/10/2003 with errors: TAO 2 sec gaps were encoded into the stream and the show was not tracked properly. I decoded it, joined the tracks in shntool, meticulously removed the gaps in EAC's wave editor using the zero-crossing feature, then split the file into tracks using CDWave. All gaps were exactly the same length, verfied with Zoom Full and Zero Crossing. Final compression was done with Flac 110k. No other processing was done. There exist a few source flaws though, relatively minor. 35:52 diginoise 35:53 sub-second drop out 46:33 sub-second drop out 55:42 source splice 58:53 source splice 69:00 source splice 69:01 sub-second drop out 72:22 3 sec drop out It's my opinion that this is one of the best shows I've ever listened to. Though there are flaws, they barely detract from the listening pleasure. For show I'd give this an A+, for sound an A-. Plenty of energy. Prime stuff. AFTER you purchase the official release, indulge in this wonderful, complete compilation and hear the shows as they were played. This is not a substitute for the official release. No edits, fixes or crossfades. Sweet. D1, D2 & D3 can be assembled seamlessly on longer media. Also noteworthy is that this uses 2 AUD sources taped in different locations. Other DTS's have utilized a SBD and AUD source. I really enjoyed how this came out and I hope you do too. Spectacular show. One of the most memorable concerts I saw in the last 10 years. The user should be ready (and aware) of adjusting the center and sub levels to suite their environment and to their taste. This is an earlier DTS creation and in later mixes I lowered the levels on both the LFE/Sub and center channels. --------------------------------------------------------- More On DTS Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound, like DTS and Dolby Digital. While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very low, start the disc and raise the volume gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analog audio outputs of your CD/DVD player. Burning Instructions Burn them the absolute same way you would burn any normal Audio-CD from .shn files.

Finding an DAT clone proved very frustrating. I hope someone can find one at some point so we can get a DAT>WAV>SHN version. There are fades in and out of each disc. Right after Recently finishes up, Scott did the DAT flip and some of the beginning of LIOG was missing. Luckily, I had a ` separate analog source of this already converted and I was able to splice in the missing audio. Hence, there is ~13 seconds of crowd noise spliced onto the end of Recently and ~12 seconds of audio spliced onto the beginning of LIOG. You WILL hear the analog portion, but I did the splice VERY seamlessly. * At 1:36 into Monkey, there is an adjustment to the rig. * There are some adjustments to the taping rig during the encore break.

There is one issue at the end of Granny where Jeff originally faded out (since it was the last track on disc 1), but it's relatively smooth, I think. Levels are kind of low, but it's a cool show with Mr. Haynes from Gov't Mule sitting in and all...

02/23/99 Tilson Music Hall (Indiana State University) cdr 3 A- No crowd or davespeak placed after crush, was missing on the analog source as well * taken off of the C(2) source because it wasn't taped on the other source Notes (by josh popejoy): Here is the story...I had two sources, a MDAUD source and a C(2) source. On the MDAUD source, the taper cut out all the davespeak between songs (don't ask why). I decided to equalize the MDAUD source and get it sounding good. Then I remastered and equalized the C(2) source. I took the davespeak from the C(2) source and spliced it in with the music from the MDAUD source, to make the show complete. You can hear some change in the sound when the sources change. This was the best I could do. On discs two and three of the C(2) source, the crowd brickwalls after every song. I minimized it best I could. However, it is still real annoying after the songs on discs 2 and 3 of the final copy. I faded out at the end of discs 1 and 3, and between the set and encore.

It was found in a recording studio in Charlottesville Va by a college student recording with her college a capella group. She asked the studio guy if she could have it and he said yes. The Original was in the form of 2 discs and were labeled with the date 11.27.1991 and they said they were recorded at Trax. The current disc 1 was also labeled disc two and visa versa however it is obvious that they were accidently switched or mislabeled. 10/14/92 Flood Zone cdr 2 A- The sound cuts out for 21 seconds in d1t04. It sounds like a board problem since there is a spot where the sound comes back on at lower volume. There is a split second spot of diginoise in d2t04. Remember, this came from an analog master, so there are tape flip spots that have fadeouts. These come after d1t07 and d2t03

11/11/92 Trax shn/cds 2 A- The show is most likely a DMIX of SBD and mics, because the audience is more vocal and more easily heard than a typical SBD show. I am assuming that the show is a DMIX. The only site that has a setlist for this show is: http://www.phantomnet.com/vault/92/111192.html3 They list the show ending at Warehouse and Dave certainly says, "good night everybody" for the last time after Warehouse here. The other songs were on the DAT and each have breaks in between and sound noticeably different from the rest of the show, so I am assuming that these are filler. There is a slight click in d1t02 around 3:24, there is a 2 second dropout between d1t07 and d1t08 and there is a small click in d1t08 around 7:32, all of which were on the DAT and are barely noticeable.
11/17/92 Trax shn/cds 3 B * Dave Matthews solo ** Dave Matthews and Peter Griesar *** Dave Matthews and Carter Beauford # the end of this song is cut off This conversion was done as a request. I have never seen anyone else who had this, so I put my copy to CD. I used Dolby NR to reduce the hiss, and the sound came out decent. I'm fairly certain that set 1 is missing, but I have no way of knowing for sure because there are no records of this show anywhere.
12/15/92 Trax shn/cds 1 A
12/22/92 Trax shn/cds 3 A * Diginoise during intermission. Not a big deal, but it's there The date is my best guess. When I recieved this show, no setlist engine listed it, and no one knew of it. DMBSE (http://dmbse.dhs.org) listed a show identical to this (w/ the encore and soundcheck missing), but as 12/22/1993. I was told it was 12/22/1992, and I believe it is. Here is why... 1) Peter Griesar is with the band. He quit 3/23/1993, which rules out any possible show past that date. 2) It was recorded on DAT. There are no known 1991 shows on DAT. 3) So Much To Say, (Celebrate) Two Step, Lie In Our Graves, (Dangerous Hours) Help Myself, Halloween, and Granny were all played. These songs did not debut until 1992. 4) No songs written past 1993 are played. 5) Dave wishes everyone a Merry Christmas at the end of the show. The venue is uncertain, but I assume it is Trax, only because DMBSE listed the 12/22/1993 (with nearly identical setlist) as being played at Trax. That's why I list it as being at Trax (that and DMB played at Trax a LOT those early years).

03/09/93 Trax shn/cdr 2 A Richard Harding guested on sax. Since none of the setlists have 03-09-1993 listed, it's tough to tell which songs he played on. However, he was there because they mention him before 'Lie In Our Graves'. This would lead me to believe that he did play on 'Lie In Our Graves'. You can also hear him playing with Leroi on 'Ants Marching', but who knows what else, if anything, he played on. - Compiled by Joshua Popejoy <jazznkc18@aol.com>.

This produced frequent clipping during the show, and I do concede this, but the level of the Carter's drums relative to the band led to his drums being the only instrument I heard that clipped, and that's how I justified it to myself. * - Dave Matthews Solo ^ - Weird problem with vocals switching from left to right channel, and back This problem would have been the soundman's problem, not the DATs. $ - Slight dropout just eliminated by me. Will appear as a slight skip. Sorry. & - Man, true reflections was a problem. Two major dropouts, one around 1:50,the other around 2:35. For the one at 2:30, I put in a line that had already been sung, and then sent it straight into Boyd's solo. Sounds a little weird, but much better than it did at first. There was no salvaging the 1:50 dropout. I did my best, but it's still blatently obvious. Ah well. The third major problem was at 4:45. I don't know what it was, but the song sort of skips a beat again. I didn't touch this one. ! - Weird reverb thang going on at one point. On master DAT.

04/01/93 He's Not Here shn 2 A - He's Not Here is a bar in Chapel Hill, NC - Two Step (d1t04) cuts at the end and the beginning of Warehouse (d1t05) cuts in. - There is a 1 second cut toward the end of Tripping Billies (d1t07) at the 04:47 mark. - The show is 2 sets (disc 1 and disc 2). History: Jason Silverstein gave this show to Sharon Bergamo in October of 2004 (special thanks to Wayne Teeger who made the connection!). It was a single minidisc labeled "He's Not Here, Dave Matthews Band, 4/1/93." She sent the minidisc to Ken Mininger for digital conversion. This show is previously uncirculated. Jason was at this show and can verify the date and location. The following are notes from Jason sent to Sharon and Ken: "What I can tell you is more personal. The He's Not Here show was personally paid for by my old fraternity, Pi Kappa Alpha, as an April Fool's Day bash. I was pledging at the time, so I had to help the band set up and break down the equipment. They had this old white van we packed with their own amps. I remember Boyd and I struggled with one piece - he wasn't as 'fit' then. The guys were very laidback, and you can hear several of them screaming song names between songs during the sets. Funny stuff, at least to me because I know who is saying what." "There's another show as well from "Fraternity Court," which actually happened the week prior and was paid for by all the fraternities in the court (including ours). We had about 20 real big band devotees in the house (including me), so booking them was pretty easy. The funny thing is we paid $3,500 for them at He's Not Here and we thought that would be the last time we could afford them. We were right." The "Fraternity Court" show referenced is the 3/20/93 show (also given to Sharon on minidisc and converted by Ken). This show is currently in circulation but with a different setlist order. The minidisc version has no cuts or breaks and is believed to be the proper setlist order. In this show, Dave mentions the upcoming 4/1/93 show at He's Not Here. Compiled on October 20, 2004 by Ken Mininger and Sharon Bergamo.

04/02/93 Corrin Refectory, Salem College shn 2 Salem College is an all-girl school in Winston Salem. I got a call from Carter about 4 that afternoon telling me they were coming into town. They had a local sound company come in and do the PA, Jeff was on FOH. Probably about 50 or so people there. I ran a matrix from my AT-813's and a stereo feed from the board, thru my Yamaha MM10 Portable Mixer. Mainly board, very little room, very clean mix. This was in the cafeteria of the school. NO ONE (including the band) has this, there was a DAT in the FOH rack but Jeff didn't bother to roll it. This show doesn't appear on any of the sites (antsmarching, etc.), so it's one of those "lost shows". Except for about 10 seconds of diginoise/droput in the 2nd set where the tape got chowed when my 3700 was screwing up, it's PRISTINE. This is hot DMB, when they were NOBODIES and had no idea they were going to break. They're just a hungry young band, trying to make it out of Charlottesville. The "Rick" that Carter is dedicating Halloween to is ME! The band had originally asked me to sit on this (in '94). It's been long enough that I don't think they'd mind it getting out. My master is the ONLY COPY of this show. Please show me the respect of passing this on as you've found it, and including this text file (signed & unmodified) in any upload. Enjoy!! The name of the dealership is unknown. There are two cassettes to this show. Cassette 1 contains Spotlight - Help Myself. Cassette 2 contains Tune By Stefan Lessard - Dancing Nancies. The master cassette 1 was eaten by Kelly's dog so my copy is a 3rd generation copy. My cassette 2 is the master cassette. Because of the generation difference there is a noticable change in sound quality from disc 1 to disc 2. Thank you Kelly Darnell for another "gem". Compiled By Sarah Baucco on April 26, 2004

However, all of them ended up having the same diginoise at the aforementioned spots. % Dave introduces the next song as Granny but it most definately isn't. dmbta.nancies.org lists both Granny and Help Myself as proceeding Minarets. I assume the songs were not recorded on this source, or cut afterwards. Also, there was about 10 seconds of silence between Billies and Minarets which I deleted. 04/07/95 Cameron Indoor Stadium (Duke) shn/cdr 2 <> played, but not taped ! abrupt with excess silence, so fade in added $ full band ^ first time played ------------------------- Notes: % most records say that the encore was only Watchtower, but this source clearly shows that Ants is cut on the end, and then #40 starts abruptly after the crowd noise before the encore was cut out somewhere along the line I was able to reduce much of the original buzz and hiss, and boost the volume by 200% and bass by 9dB to fill out the sound, normalizing. I also cut off the frequency @ 9000Hz, which took out a lot of hiss. There's still a little warble in the background, and you can hear some hiss during the quiet parts, but if you crank it while the music is playing, it sounds great. Much better than the original, which was tedious to listen to at best. The place is echoey to begin with, so that's not a problem in recording (most evident right before #40). One of the rarest shows out there as of right now. This is the best it gets. Next, 4.10.94 (the "Recently" show) ;) You can tell this source from the original by the very full clear sound - on the original, the hiss is almost as heavy as the instruments. Nancies has this listed as 4/16/95 as well. * There are some pops and level adjustments in the intro. * compiled by Louie Rendek <ljr7@yahoo.com> on February 9, 2003.
04/17/95 Javelina Studios shn/cdr 1 A * The source of this show is not known. It was found as filler on a DAT i was converting. It sounds great but there could be an FM or analog generation in the history of the DAT. * The levels were a bit low, so i boosted them in SoundForge by 4dB. * There is some diginoise in the intro track. * There is some diginoise in the production notes track.
04/18/95 Mud Island Amphitheatre shn 2 A There are a couple small spots of diginoise from the DAT in Seek Up (1-2 sec). There is also a dropout in Seek Up (1 sec). There seems to be a small cut in WWYS. This is an amazing and rare show, the above problems are very acceptable for a rare show.
04/22/95 In Cahoots shn/cdr 2 There is a 3 sec droppout in Recently in between the 7:13 & 7:17 mark. This is the first and only time DMB has played in Oklahoma. It would be nice to find the master DAT for this show. This tape is an excellent recording of the 1995 winter/fall run, of which there aren't too many.

Then from 5:32-5:50 there are numerous dropouts. finally at 5:53, the song cuts short and there is about 10 seconds of silence, then you hear the crowd applauding the band leaving the stage. i just left everything there because if i took it out it just made it sounds weird/worse. ^ - first time played * - with David Ryan Harris ~ - "And We Dance Away" :)
07/28/95 Oak Mountain Amphitheater shn/cdr 2 B * There was a really bad "dentist drilling sound that starts 0:23 into Billies and continues in R&R. Spectrum analysis in SoundForge showed that the two primary frequencies causing this noise were at 15,786Hz and 9057Hz. a notch filter at -25dB attenuation was implented at these frequencies in both tracks during the problem regions. The sound can still be heard, but it is listenable now. * There is a tape flip after R&R, a fade out/in was inserted. * There is a one second dropout in Recently, no editing was done. * There is a tape flip after Nancies, a fade out/in was inserted. * The levels were a bit different during Jimi right after Nancies. No editing was done to fix the levels. * There is a tape flip after Satellite and the Dave speak between Satellite and WWYS is in & out, so i removed it. WWYS starts abruptly (missing the first 10 seconds or so). A fade out/in was inserted to make this transition smooth. * There is a few second dropout near 1:00 into #36. * There was a tape flip a minute after Dave started playing Hold Me Down and the song was started over on the other side of the tape. I put a fade out/in before the encore intro and Hold Me Down to make this transition smooth. * compiled by Louie Rendek <ljr7@po.cwru.edu> on June 5, 2002.

06/03/97 Classic Amphitheatre shn/cdr 3 A- # with Bela Fleck on banjo. Notes: ---------- * The DAT initially had some "problems" that were edited. There was one channel that had higher levels, but the channel with the lower levels was not at a constant level. The lower channel continually decreased over the entire length of the show. The beginning of the show had a 3dB difference between the two channels, but by the end of the show, that difference grew to 13dB. A graphic fade was done in Sound Forge to level out the low channel, then a boost was done to even out the levels between the right and left channel. The results are good, much better than the original. * There are problems throughout this show with clipping. The spots are very brief and the rest of the tape sounds good. All of these problems are on the master. I had two other sources (one DAT and one CD) and both did not sound as good as this source. See below for details. * There was ~15 seconds worth of clipping at 2:28 in Minarets. The clipping was only in the right channel, so the left channel audio was inserted over this time period. * Dave does a Rod Stewart tease between Typical and DIDO, "Tonight's The Night". * There was 2 seconds of bad clipping at 3:58 in SMTS. The clipping was only in the right channel, so the audio from the left channel was inserted. * There is a clip at 1:42 in Too Much, not edited. * There are clips at 1:40, 2:05, and 4:07 in Tripping Billies, only the clip at 4:07 was edited. * There are clips between 7:40 to 7:50 in Nancies. These were not edited. A clip at 7:55 and 8:05 in Nancies were edited, since the clips at those spots were only in the right channel. Conversion Notes: In my own defense, I did my best with a nearly destroyed source. This came to me in pretty bad shape. Sounded like there might have been TAO/cassette generations in the lineage; the crowd noise was loud & dominant throughout. I've cleaned it up as best I can and removed most of the pops & clicks. 12/04/00 Allstate Arena vcd 4 B Notes: Here's the thing, I messed around for a bit with SVCD and VCD converting. It seemed to me that when I converted the original MPEG to SVCD and then back to VCD the picture looked smoother and the quality seemed to improve. I could be wrong, but the way it looked in the original MPEG was very blocky and this seemed to correct some of it. Also I left it as four discs cause that's the way it was when I received it. On another hand this is just an all around great show. If anyone has the master to this show please let me know so that we can get a higher quality conversion instead of MPEG. But whatever works for now :o) Big thanks goes out to thestonedcaptian for getting me the audio!

12/13/00 Madison Square Garden shn 2 A @ w/ Warren Haynes # Geffell sourced only Notes: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are a few errors in the DSBD source that I used for this mix. d1t02 at 08:14 there is a drop out on the DSBD source. This was an error on the copy I received, not on the main DSBD source. You can tell this because the Geffell source still has the word "to" (from "don't you love [to] swim naked"). I just dubbed the Geffell over silence in the DSBD source at that point. d2t01 was omitted from the DSBD source in circulation. d2t02 was faded in on the DSBD source, that is evident in the mix at 00:08 of d2t02 as the guitar becomes much clearer. d2t04 has an error at 02:58. Again this is because of an error on the DSBD source in circulation. The part missing from the DSBD source is "[I got this growl in my] tummy, I'm ..." The mix between the Geffell and the DSBD source are different through- out the recording. In "crowd-pleaser" songs I left the Mix at 50/50 for the Geffell + DSBD. But in more quiet songs I reduced the Geffell source anywhere from 30-50% of the mix so that the instrumentals would be more present.

Bad move because it started to rain again during Satellite and got bad enough that I had to lower the stand and clamp on an umbrella. Then it proceeded to rain steadily up until True Reflections, but it's not really noticeable, I don't think. Only some thumping, etc when I moved the stand up and down after #41. This was the loudest PA I've ever heard at a DMB show, especially Carter's toms and snare. I was in pain by the time Two Step came around, I don't think the recording captures the explosiveness of Carter's drums fully but it came out well. 06/26/03 Post-Gazette Pavilion at Star Lake shn/cdr 3 A * Featuring Butch Taylor on keys and/or background vocals # Band's in-ear mix goes through the house briefly at the conclusion of this song > Indicates a segue into the next song Notes: This recording was not intended to be released in its current form. The mics that made this source were but one pair in a matrix, and run extraordinarily wide to facilitate a wider stereo image in a complete "dpa_mix" source, a la 06/20/03, but thanks to some idiots sitting in Row G, Seats 11/12, the laptop that was recording the four tracks to be mixed was fried by the half-cup of beer spilled from the hands of some moronic idiot who seems to believe she can't enjoy a "Dave" show without being incoherently drunk. So I'd like to send out a heartfelt "Fuck You" to the two lushes sitting behind me for the trouble they've caused.

03/20/05 Palais Theatre shn 2 A- Added fade in/out at beginning/end of show There's some clipping in The Stone. Had to to start a new file on iRiver H140, so there's about 10 seconds of crowd noise missing between Bartender and Intro to American baby. Added a small fade in/out between the two. Has the mics clipped to my glasses so there's a lot of phase-shift in this. Legal taping in oz is pretty unusual, so I didn't want to risk not getting in with a stand. Very heavy on the left channel, as I wanted to watch the gig and not stare at the speaker stack all night. Was only taping in case no-one else showed up. Never pay for or sell live recordings. 11/12/04 Township Auditorium shn 2 A NOTES FROM TAPER: Because this was a highly anticipated concert on a Friday night WITH beer sales, this recording is not without a few minor worries. One row infront of me there were 3 drunken & clingy college boys who decided an acoustic concert was the perfect time to hug each other and talk constantly; they could not be shut-up. Additionally, one row directly behind me was another drunk soul who, from time to time, would yell and shout obscenities directly in my ear. However, the energy level of the audience was quite high & the members of Godsmack really seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was a special evening for Columbia, South Carolina.

10/22/67 Winterland Arena shn 1 -I used Samplitude to normalize the show and clean up some cuts. -The previous circulating shn of this show has "No Noise" applied to it. Even though it was done with Sonic Solutions, it was NOT done by David Gans. I always felt that the "No Noise" version was a bit muddy. This copy has no noise reduction done to it, so it is much clearer. -The levels in Morning Dew are all over the place. It is mostly due to the mix. I did not do anything to change this. The sound improves by the end of the song. I can only wonder what kind of drugs they were using at this show :)

10/04/81 Rainbow Theatre shn 2 : Disc 1 is tracked to be 80 minutes : First couple notes of CR&S cut : tape flip in Samson @ 2:35 : tape flip in Saint of Circumstance @ 5:49 : Sugar Mag and Don't Ease Me In come from a different cassette than the rest of set 2; this tape has the same known lineage but a bit more clarity and a bit less bottom (Source 2 above) : 10db Noise Reduction applied in Cool Edit 2000 to reduce tape hiss. While a tiny bit of hiss remains, and the editing gives some dead air a bit of a strange sound on the recording, this IMO far improves *significant* hiss previously present from multiple cassette gens, and brings out the music a good deal more. : The '81 European Gift story: Several years ago, a friend of mine had a job at a very large airplane manufacturer near Seattle. One day, someone he'd never spoken with walked up to him in the plant and handed him a briefcase, saying only he'd heard my friend was a deadhead. What he found inside was SBDs of nearly the entire Fall '81 European Tour (the only shows missing were 10/11/81 and 10/15/81 at the Melkweg). I was recruited to dub the tapes for him, and made a set for myself. Many of these shows are now in circulation with better gens, but this is one of several that don't circulate either at all or as SBDs as of the time of this seeding. Enjoy, and let's see if the masters surface! of the time of this seeding. Enjoy, and let's see if the masters surface!

03/27/88 Hampton Coliseum shn 2 As my very first seed, I had undertaken a couple of years ago to address some of the flaws on the Matrix that originally circulated. While I was reasonably successful, experience is a good teacher and in the intervening years I had also discovered additional problems with the original Matrix seed. Because this is one of my favorite shows, I decided to have another go at it. As it stands now, unless somebody uncovers another original Matrix DAT, that this is likely to be the most complete and carefully edited version of this show available. ---------- Known issues in this seed: Tracking errors (mostly minor) were fixed throughout; SHNTool used to repair sector boundaries after retracking. Some gentle EQ was applied to both ends: +3 dB at 60 Hz (rising to +6 dB at 20 Hz) and +1.5 dB at 10k Hz. Drums and space are seamless, with space now moved to disk 3. The following patches were provided by Stephen Porter's audience cassette, editing in Peak: 1. Crowd noise before first set and the first few notes of Iko restored, total of about 0:42. 2. Inexplicably, in Stagger Lee, the lyric "Went down to DeLyon's CLUB in Billy DeLyon's blood" contained a splice rendering it "Went down to DeLyon's SAID in Billy ..." This is mysterious because Garcia didn't sing that lyric incorrectly. The line is now patched correctly; see also #5 below. 3. A segment of about 0:25 was missing from the end of To Lay Me Down and the beginning of Let It Grow, previously covered by a slick splice that was nonetheless an elision. That segment is now intact, though there is a brief (< 0:01) level drop in the first few seconds of Let It Grow. 4. Let It Grow is now complete to the end, patched beginning at 9:22. 5. Inexplicably, the first half of the second line of Scarlet Begonias ("Not a chill to the winter") had been patched from a later part of the Matrix ("She was too pat to open"). This is mysterious because Garcia didn't sing that lyric incorrectly. The line is now patched correctly. 6. Several seconds were missing in the transition from GDTRFB to I Need a Miracle. That missing segment is now restored.

07/21/91 Irvine Meadows shn 2 Show notes: *This is a great show, and probably one of the most important. This is the second of total three Irvine Meadows-shows on '91 LOLLAPOLOOZA tour! The special thing about this show is the controversial song "Don't Call Me Nigger, Whitey" that Perry sang together with Ice-T. Recording notes: *There is another version of this bootleg where "Stop!" is the last song on disc 2, but that one is wrong. This version here has the correct song order. *Many people will probably ask themselves where the hell is "Jane Said". Well, the band did do some set-list variation during the three nights at Irvine Meadows, and there are some testimonials on the internet of people who actually were on this show, and nobody mentions "Jane Said" as the encore song, but only "Classic Girl". So don't worry, this is 100% complete show! *This is a soundboard recording, but not exactly the greatest soundboard recording in the world. I'm not really satisfied with the mix at certain points, especially during "Three Days". Guitar solo is low in the mix during the song, while background effects may seem a bit high. Don't let this discourage you. The show is still perfectly enjoyable. For this reason, I rate the sound quality with straight A, instead of A+

10/31/84 The Stone shn 1 An excellent audience recording that's held up really well. Megadeth as a three piece on this show. Dave and crew do their best to win over the decidedly pro-Exodus Bay Area crowd, but only receive mixed reactions. Excellent sound and some great early guitar work from Mustaine. The 4 Mustaine interviews that follow are simply a must have. Most were done when the wounds were still fresh from Dave getting the boot from Metallica. Plenty of off-the-record remarks, ton's of predictions that didn't pan out, completely hilarious and over the top. Love him or hate him, Dave was always great for a quote!

11/??/74 Paul's Mall shn 1 this show circulates with uncorrect song titles for tracks 10 and 11. They usually are listed as Instrumental and Harmonica Boogie. The correct titles were taken from the book Muddy Waters- The Mojo Man by Sandra B. Tooze note: show often circulates with Paul's or Pall's Mall being the venue and it most likely is however the aforementioned book doesn't mention a venue.

10/25/91 Hollywood Palace shn 1 This is a good performance from 1991 to own. The recording is very clear and it sounds like someone set up some professional recording gear somewhere away from the crowd to capture this show. There is too much reverb (echo) being used during the show because it almost sounds like the band is playing in a large cave. At one point Dave is talking to the audience and the echo goes away... so it's not the venue's acoustics... it's definitely the reverb settings (the guitar distortion is above normal as well). This date was a "Rock for Choice" (keep abortion legal) show. The first thing you hear is Kurt saying to the audience "Keep your f***ing laws off my sister's body!"... and of course the crowd goes nuts. There is a little editing during the disc, but Madman (the disc label) did manage to keep several of Krist's speeches.... he finally gets to vent his political views to the crowd. He even allows two people from the audience speak their mind, one of which just screams into the mic "Nirvana F***ing RIPS!!", which I'm sure isn't what Krist had in mind. The show loses some momentum due to Krist's little soliloquies, but is still very solid. This is definitely NOT the bands best performance because there are a lot of blown parts, especially "Drain You". "Rape Me" is a nice touch to finish things off. Overall, this is an above average, though unspectacular disc. Shows from 1991 are nice to have, so it's worthwhile to pick "Had it All" up if you get the chance.

10/15/94 Cabaret Metro shn 1 This is from an 'Oasis Live' promo disc that we received here at the radio station in probably late '94 or '95, show is also on boots called 'Ode to the Walrus' and 'Supersonic.' It's excellent sound and apparently sent from Sony. I can't find any additional info on this disc anywhere, all I can do is provide a scan of the CD itself (which I will also include a flipped version as well since it's printed backwards). By all accounts it's a complete show

06/10/75 Capital Center shn 1 this is from my own tape as it was kindly sent me lately by a collector. the generation is unknown but sounds as to be low. To me it's better than the "Shone Like The Sun" RoIO, much less shrilling and totally raw. Speed was not correct, it did run a bit slow (music on tape is about 56m) so I speedcorrected it, although the speed is still not right to me. It's unfortunately missing the very last part of SOYCD 6-9 and also the whole second set that was never in general circulaion (and I have no idea if some genuine recording exists). -YGBC

Only 20 copies of this show were made and released for sale. It is certainly one of the scarcest Rush bootlegs out there, as only a handful of people were able to purchase a copy. Although it's not as bright and clear as the GUP video cloned discs, it is definitely a genuine soundboard with some rare tunes (Kid Gloves, The Body Electric, Between The Wheels).

04/29/94 Corestates Spectrum shn 2 from Ron's Rush RoIO Guide (A-): The second of two Watchtower shows to appear in May 2002 (the first being the 10/18/96 boot). This is a great soundboard recording from a long-hoarded source. Nice to see that this one finally gets to see the light of day. It is a great performance by the band, especially nice for the addition of "Bravado" to the setlist. The sound quality on this one is pretty much flawless, being as this is a nice stereo soundboard recording. The only problem with the overall package is that the encore is missing. There is also an audience source available from this night, but really, why bother? LeeGeddy (EX): A very nice sounding SBD from the first night of the Philly shows. This show surfaced in mid '02 when released by Watch Tower, a relative newcomer to the bootleg world. They've been releasing some great Led Zeppelin shows and looks like they did a great job with this release and Echoes On The Stages (T4E rehearsal). The sound is very clear with nice stereo separation and a typical SBD mix. Personally, it's just tad bright for my taste, but who's complaining. Packaging on this boot is nice with a slipcover for the jewel case. WT goes for simplicity on their packaging and works well. There are few instances where the levels fluctuate very slightly on disc 2, otherwise it's almost perfect. I still prefer the mix of "Nuts & Bolts" (Madison '94) SBD over this one and it's the full show. This source is missing the encore. For trading purposes SHN files were created. SHN lineage: Watch Tower silver CD > CDR > EAC > CDWav > SHN (mkW). This show is originally available on silver pressed CDs and will fit onto (2CDr SHN). Many mucho mucho thanks to Tito C. for providing the discs and high resolution scans of the artworks. PLEASE TRADE FREELY. (JUNE '02)
