Born in Montreal, Richler has written extensively about the working-class neighborhood of his youth. His books for adults and children include The Acrobats, St. Urbain's Horseman, Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang, and The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, which was made into a film of the same name. Richler gives the viewer insight into what motivates his writing, and the steps he takes to perfect his craft.
