The Secret Machines
Set 1?
Comment*Opening band for Trail Of Dead. These guys are allright but seem a bit watered down; like drinking a
Diet Coke instead of a Coke or decaf instead of regular coffee. Lots of synthesizer/industrial white noise; I
didn't really care for them all that much but they are decent at least. Man, talk about a career. I did see the lead singer walking around the venue before the TOD took the stage, looking semi-pathetic, sort of like "someone please
notice me".

CommentGood show, good band - if you like that type of music of course. Personally, I sort of dig music like FF but not my favorite or end-all-be-all. I would go see them again though. All in all, above average. The band was pretty loose & seemed to enjoy being in Detroit at a sold-out show, their first time in Michigan - must have been a nice feeling I suppose. Lots of those 'Alt.Weezer.Confused' type of kids at thios show, if you know what I mean. Anyway. The recording came out rather nice, a little bit bassy as the filter was not on; probably should have been on but for those that may like something with a little extra kick then you would enjoy this recording I think.

Comment*The best performance of the band I have seen thus far. If you are able to see And You WIll Know Us By The Trail Of Dead... I highly, highly recommend them. the drummer/guitarist/other vocalist was standing in the bar & I went up & talked to him for a min. Told him it was my 6th time seeing them & that I just wanted to make sure that audio taping was cool. Jason said 'of course man, taping is cool with us'. So, I grabbed the TOD show from last Oct at the Magic Stick where they played & gave it to him. He was like, what's this... told him it was my AUD recording from that show. It was weird man, he looked at me & he was like genuinly touched that someone would go out of there way for the band. Gave me a hug & said that if anyone gives me any trouble taping them anywhere to ask any of the band members. On the way out, the bassist was standing in the door & we started talking about taping... he told me that before the show they took a listen to a few tracks from the Magic Stick show I gave the m; pretty cool! Said they liked it & appreciated it... told em I have 5 others I have yet to give them including this show. Just a really, really positive experience. Great band, cool guys who are fan/taper friendly.

CommentSuperb performance. Although The Bravery are not officially open-taping, I asked Sam (lead singer) if it would be ok to tape them in 04/2005 in Detroit, he said he didn't have a problem with it but their tour manager may. So, stealth. Definitely worth the effort and obnoxious 'alt' crowd to see this band.
