The Tubes
Set 11. A&M Records Film Montage (1974) (15:00)
2. Live - Anaheim Stadium, Anaheim, CA (2 songs)
3. Rockpop in studio appearance (Prime Time and TV Is King)
4. 1983 TV concert featuring 5
songs (Sushi Girl, Out Of The Business, Wild Women of Wongo, She?s a Beauty and White Punks On Dope).
5. European Promo version of She's A Beauty
CommentThe Tubes Video Rarities:

This is a collection of stuff sent to me from Europe, and all was in
PAL format initially. It starts with a 15 minute FILM montage of several
songs and lots of early stage antics. This is the only stuff I?ve of
pre 1975 concerts. This film was created by A&M records to promote the
Tubes and has some GREAT stuff; quality on this however is a 2.5 because
its very old and god knows how many generations it is. Next up are two
songs performed at Anaheim Stadium in the late seventies. Nothing
remarkable here, but its interesting and boy is there a crowd. Quality here
is a 3 with decent sound. After that is a two song in studio RockPop
appearance featuring Prime Time and Television. This is the tubes at
their record company sucking up best and they ooze sarcastic smarm while
lip syncing; quality is a solid 4 or 4.5 with perfect sound because they
aren?t really performing. Then we have 1983 TV concert featuring 5
songs or so including Sue Sue Sushi, Out Of The Business, Wild Women of
Wongo, She?s a Beauty and White Punks On Dope. This is a full on stage
production and the video quality is good, rating a 4 and sound is
excellent. Last but not least is a European version of the promo video for
She?s A Beauty. Its very odd and definitely not the one I saw on MTV here.
The song on this was awful so I decided to try the cd version instead.
It didn?t come close to fitting, but I discovered that if I removed a
refrain from the middle, it was suddenly perfect. An hour later I had
managed to replace the original audio with a modified arrangement of the
CD version and you cant tell its not the original. I found the CD of
the album REALLY tinny and flat, so I boosted the low end a lot and
filled it in to duplicate the radio mix that was originally there. Video
quality on this is a 3.

CommentInformation from nodoubtonline.com

Credits:
All songs recorded live directly from the Soundboard at the following locations: Berkeley Community Center; San Jose Events Center; Los Angeles Universal Ampitheatre

Quality:
Ranges between the three performances. The first two are excellent, the last is good. The last, even though credited as a soundboard recording, is taped from the audience. "Excuse Me Mr." is listed on the sleeve as being on the disc three times, however it is only there twice. The tracks were taken from the following performances: (1) Universal Ampitheater - December 17, 1995; (2) Berkeley Community Theater - December 15, 1995; (3) San Jose State University Events Center - December 16, 1995. All shows are complete except (2), which is missing the "Star Wars intro" and "Excuse Me Mr.". For some reason the bootlegger replaced the beginning of this show with the end of (1)'s show. The cover does not list what show each track is from, so I listed that here.
