Notes: this show was a benefit for Aung San Suu Kyi, Nobel Peace Prize recipient in 1991 and democracy leader, who has been imprisoned by the military force in Burma. Damien Rice released the single "Unplayed Piano" to benefit the UK and US campaigns for Burma. For more info: www.actionburma.com
Editing notes: many level adjustements were done, to amplify music and reduce crowd noise. It's not perfect, but a huge improvment from the master recording. Some sections may have more hiss than others, especially the beginning of Blower's Daughter, performed without amplification. After the speech about Aung San Suu Kyi, a documentary video about Burma was played, with the studio version of Unplayed Piano at the end, so it is not included in this set. Amie and its tags were cut into three different tracks.

It rained through pretty much the entire show, hard at times (particularly at the start).
Most of the 'static' you hear is rain drops on the umbrella over the mics. :(
The PA was VERY VERY quiet so you hear a good bit of city noise too (busses, construction, etc.)
Please do not spread this recording in lossy formats such as MP3, WMA, OGG, etc.

Comments: Pretty good recording from the acoustically challenged Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. For those unfamiliar with this era, Byrne's first solo album was a heavily salsa-influenced album of pop songs that kind of grew out of the influence heard on "True Stories"; Rei Momo wasn't as "poppy" as his second album, but still some memorable tracks. The band supporting him was a large Latin band, if I remember correctly, with a horn section and 2-3 female backing singers. |

Bonnaroo Music Festival
Manchester, TN
June 11, 2005
(12:00am to 4:00am set)
Recorded and transferred by Peter Lemonjello.
Edited, tracked and seeded by Ty Chambers.
Source: Neumann KM140(FOB/ORTF)>v3>d8(48kHz)
Transfer: Sony D-10pro II > corange coax cable > m-audio audiophile 24/96 > wavelab > cd wave > flac
Notes: CD Wave was used for tracking. Wavelab 5 was used for resampling and editing out some spots of digi-noise. They appeared sparingly in a few tracks but were most concentrated in d2t05 and d2t07. In those tracks, you may slightly hear where these artifacts were edited. Sector boundaries verified using SHNtool.

Notes: There is some distortion due to either a brickwalling or A>D issue with my M1.
Strangely the + side of the waveform starts distorting around -6dB while the
- side can get past -3dB before problems. At times this is audible, but rarely
gets too bad. The obvious hum you hear during the quieter songs is exactly as
the room sounded, as is the cavernous echo chamber sound the Beacon is famous for.

Notes: First live Wilco show! I have no idea where I picked this up, or for that matter if it has been circulated. Yes, this is a SBD, but don't expect a whole lot in the way of fidelity. The mix is bad and there's a ton of amp buzz. All the same, how much fuss can be made when it's an actual recording of the first Wilco gig ever!
