04/17/71 Dillon Gym, Princeton University SHN 0 The lineage of these files is: Main: S:R?D Dub: S:RPD Both DATs were downsampled into my computer via ZA2 (48>44.1) The Main tape sounds much better than the dub - which is only used for 1.1 seconds (want to find it? Listen to the last time the guys say "the blues" in Bobbi McGee) Given the differences in the reel flip (at the end of lovelight) I would guess that the 'Main' tape represents a separate A>D transfer than the 'Dub' tape. If you know more, I'd love to hear about it. This tape is NOT an A+, healy master to DAT, multi-track remix, 96bit A>D conversion. This is from a reel made in 1971, so you will hear some rough bits. To the best of my knowledge, this transfer represents the best circulating copy in existence. Rod Nayfield rod@nycheads.com
04/26/71 Fillmore East SHN 0 shn conversion & ftp uploading by Bob Murphy
04/27/71 Fillmore East 0 The new Vault release, "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Grateful Dead" is a compilation of all five shows from the April, '71 Fillmore run. LAGTGD is from the multitrack masters and is commercially available on Arista, or from GDM at http://mars.dead.net For the obsessive completist collectors, here are the complete 4-27-71 NRPS & Dead Sets directly from two-track masters. Errata: Lodi fades in already in progress. Hard To Handle starts late and has some sound fluctuations in the first minute or two. Sugar Magnolia fades in already in progress. There is a splice in the segue between Uncle John's Band and Lovelight. The faults listed above are consistent with previous versions shn conversion and ftp uploading by Bob Murphy

10/26/80 Radio City Music Hall SHN 0 Aud Patch supplies Alabama and first 23 seconds of Promised Land. Dropout during Alabama from 1:05-1:11. Minglewood spliced at 5:43 some of last verse missing. Playin and Drums cut due to Reel flip.
