| 03/08/96 | Maple Leaf Gardens | DVD | 1 | A | Bob Seger - vocals / guitar Chris Campbell - bass Alto Reed - saxophone Craig Frost - keyboards Tim Mitchell - lead guitar Mark Chatfield - guitar Tim Cashion - keyboards Kenny Aronoff - drums Bill Payne - keyboards Shaun Murphy - background vocals Karen Newman - background vocals Laura Creamer - background vocals There were three or four places where the filmer paused the camera between songs (presumably to make sure he could get the whole show on one tape). I smoothed these over nicely with fades into the next song. I also took the liberty to chop out some black screen while the crowd was cheering for an encore so that I could make room for a 5 minute CBS "This Morning" segment / interview of Bob for this tour. The camera work is a little skakey by Lividz standards, but it's not shakey to the point of being too annoying to enjoy. No 20X zoom lenses back in 1996, so about the best you get is head-to-toe close, as this was shot from the back of the venue at full zoom. I tweeked the audio to bring out the high end a bit - and this makes the vocals and instruments a bit brighter sounding without hurting the low end. I also shifted the audio by three frames to bring it into synch with the video (sound doesn't travel any faster because it's loud). Over all, a really nice show from the 1996 tour - now available for the very first time as a PC encoded DVD sourced directly from the filmer's master Hi8mm tape. | |

| 03/22/06 | Tokyo Dome | CD-R | 1 | A | Tom recorded from the center block using the special microphones. He would rather not share the info about his stealth recording gears. Please respect his wish. This is the excellent audience recording: the high and the low is well-balanced and very clear without much of audience noises. I am sure that you will enjoy listening this. Eventually the Tokyo 2nd night, Sapporo and Nagoya will be uploaded here. All of them have the more or less same sound quality. If you get the better sound quality sources from the taper or the bootleg, I hope that some of you upload them here. Lastly we want to dedicate this recording to the girl who thought she bought a great field seat at the Tokyo 1st night from RSFC but received a (distant) stand seat instead. Girl, my heart goes out to you. Dealing with JEC, RSFC, and Etix, all of us went through the same kind of hell as you did. | |

| Van Morrison --- Approximate Hours: 1.25 | ||||||

| 02/02/74 | Winterland Arena | DVD | 1 | VLS is proud to bring you this DVD of classic Van Morrison performance on February 2, 1974 at the Winterland Arena in San Francisco Apparently pro-shot, this show nevertheless has had a very limited circulation, perhaps because of the mediocre quality of the tape. Current VHS copies are rumored to originate from the Umatic of a Dylan collector, but until someone unearths a fresher tape, Van fans must make due with what is available. We think you will be happy to have this version, carefully prepared for you by your friends on the Vanlose Stairway. Working from the same problematic source, we were able to make some modest improvements beyond the welcome addition of menus and chapters. Sound was boosted and given a bit more depth; you can hear .mp3 samples on comparison page. The original had an on-screen time counter that we felt was both unsightly and distracting. It has been removed from this release. Finally, video filters were applied to sharpen the picture in places and lighten it in others. In the end, none of that really matters for the true fans, who will be thrilled to view this archival recording. To all of you who appreciate that this is an absolute must-have, we can only say: we hope you will enjoy this show where you are as much as we have here in the bunker! - VLS | ||
