10/02/04 Studio 211 cd 1 A+
01/17/05 The Casbah cd 1 B- Notes: Final Fantasy and Tychon B supported. Sold out show (220 capacity). There is a hum/hiss predominant in the right channel in places where the volume dips below ~-6 dB. This is due to an in-wall fan on the side of the venue pointing toward the taper's right side that was turned on halfway through the first song. This is, for the most part, a very minor inconvenience throughout the show.

05/20/68 Kinfauns 0 B+ All these acoustic group demos were recorded sometime during May 20-29, 1968, when all four Beatles gathered at Kinfauns, George’s comfortable little one-story house Esher, not far outside of London. Derek Taylor’s name is mentioned during the sessions, and he may have been running George’s four-track Ampex reel-to-reel, on which these historic performances were preserved. ??/??/61 Minnesota Tapes CD 1 A Have the Dec 1961 tape (set 1), flac files, great sound quality
10/26/63 Carnegie Hall cd 1 A+ Tracks: Disc one Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie * Lay Down Your Weary Tune Dusty Old Fairgrounds * John Brown * When the Ship Comes In Who Killed Davy Moore? Percy's Song Bob Dylan's New Orleans Rag * Seven Curses The material presented here is an absolute must-have to any collection. It has been available for many years, but this package blows away every release that has come before. This is the one to own. CBS was planing this release during the 1963-64 Christmas season, and it went as far as being pressed to acetate. It has long been rumored that the LP cover was completed as well, and this CD purports to be a reproduction of it. It is a beautiful cover, and leaves little doubt to it's authenticity. The thorn seems to have been the rambling 6½ minute prose "Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie". A song missing from Carnegie is Talkin' John Birch. It, along with this version of Who Killed Davy Moore? was released on the official CBS release Bootleg Series Vol 1-3. The recording has been filtered and EQ'd for this release, and the result is near perfection. The overall aesthetics, quality, and material of this package make it one of the best CD boots ever produced. The Colessum version has a slightly nicer disc, as all songs are listed with a one word title. Learn more about the planned CBS release at Searching For A Gem
04/20/66 Festival Hall cd 1 A As with most performances of this tour, Dylan sings the first 6 songs solo with the acoustic guitar. For this show he uses a borrowed guitar, as his had been broken. When compared to the Sydney show, this performance is more laid back. This recording has a higher analogue tape white noise floor level, but the windscreen is effective at this show, and there are few mic pops. She Belongs To Me cuts in after the song has begun The band kicks in for electrified versions of the final 3. The overall sound on this recording is quite good. All members of what would be The Band are now in place, except for Levon Helm. On this show, Mickey Jones plays drums. Dylan introduces Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues with a fanciful story about a Mexican Painter, and two girls begin screaming wildly at the prospect of their idol singing their favorite song. Half of the show was broadcast on channel 9 TV South Australia in January 1967, and has been available ever since as a mono recording. The tape here is purported to be a stereo soundboard recording, but it is re-channeled or 'created' stereo. Keep in mind that even the soundboard tapes of the European tour that followed were only 3 tracks. There were two machines in use, but this was not for extra tracks or for a stereo effect. Technology of the day dictated two machines starting a different times to prevent music loss in the event of tape run out. The Aussie shows were mono line feed recorded from the film crew. Mr. Tambourine Man was performed as well, but only a fragment was recorded. Without it, the show clocks in at 57 minutes. Ten minutes of the Adelaide press conference were added to round it out. The original CD release of this show was 1988's 'Bob Dylan's Dream Vol.1'. It was merely recorded from vinyl, however, and the electric portion suffered the fate of being a weak mono TV broadcast tape. The cover illustration is from a 1966 edition of The New Yorker that included a Dylan article of the same title written by Ralph Gleason.
04/??/67 A Tree With Roots (Genuine Basement Tapes) cd 4 A-
08/31/69 Wootton Bridge cd 1 there has never been an incredible sounding tape of the entire show to circulate, the Label does the next best thing in gathering the best quality recording of each song from all known sources. This creates an unprecedented, wild range of sound qualities from one song to the next. The best quality tracks are those that are simply pirated from the official release. The other tracks vary from great to poor. The tracks are all fade in/fade out. (sometimes to the detriment of the song beginnings). This is a technique used by some to conceal vinyl noises. Although this title was previously released on vinyl, the CD is recorded from tape sources. As the concert is under an hour, there was no need to edit it for time restraints. It was evidently simply an artistic decision of the tape compiler. The concert is historically important, but not an incredibly inspired performance.
01/20/73 CBS Discos Studios cd 1 A+ This is a must have disc for all fans of studio outtakes, and/or the Pat Garrett material. As with the released version, there is a lot of instrumentals. There's also a lot of Bob talking and interacting with the engineer. The songs are direct from the studio mixing consoles, in incredible quality. The cover is Rex Features' classic 'Alias' photo. The photo on the back is the ferrotype that is believed to be of Henry McCarty who would change his name to Bill Bonney aka 'Billy The Kid'. The CD title is the result of a grammatical error. The true title of the song does not include an apostrophe. Also released as 'Lucky Luke
02/26/78 Matsushita Denki Taiikukan, Hirakata City cd 1 A- This two disc release contains the complete performance of the final night of a three night run at Osaka. The Osaka shows were sandwiched in between an 8 night residency in Tokyo. After this final Hirakata City concert, Bob returned to the Tokyo venue. The next two nights were recorded and released as the CBS At Budokan LP. That release, though unmatched in sound quality, contained concert songs in a random order. Fans of the funky, new 1978 arrangements will enjoy hearing them just as the audience did. The cover photo is by Clive Dixon, and helps create a simple, but pleasing aesthetic.
