| Tech Notes | Line out from the soundboard onto TDK-SA 90- most likely recorded onto my WMD-3 Pro Walkman anaolog tape recorder. This seems like a mono recording (left and right wave patterns appear close to if not identical in most places) but when I tried to render just one channel it didn't sound as good as using the 2 channels. My master tape shows that Dolby was left off! There are a few places at the end of the recording that someone apparently jarred the lines coming out of the soundbaord and there are obvious electrical glitches. I have tried to clean these up the best that I could. It could be that the last tune is "filler," as it sounds a little bit different than the rest of the tape, but I'm not sure. Playback was through a WMD-6 Pro Walkman into two 44.1khz, 16bit wave files from each side of the tape. This was accomplished with a Fostex AR-4i iPhone recorder that was modified to use an Apple lightening adapter/connector (as it was originally made for an iPhone 4 with the 30 pin connector) and the TW Recorder App onto an iPhone 6S+. The Wave files were then transfered to computer via The iUSB software & cable. From there, CoolEdit was used for normalizing each long Wav file to 0 decibels and for some editing to reduced the electrical glitches mentioned above. CD Wave Editor was then used for Tracking and then individul tracks were further normalized with CoolEdit before using TLH for Flac (level 8, aligned on sector boundaries), Fingerprints and the Torrent creation. |
