| Notes | This was the 10th gig of the European tour in June/July 2012 introducing their new album Noctourniquet almost in its entirety (9 out of 13 tracks), this time with only 5 people on stage. The Paradiso show is a great performance of the band, though they had to fight against a lot of technical problems, e.g. Deantoni's bass drum mic was contacting the plastic covering on the bass drum, provoking a slapping noise, so "surgery without anesthesia" (Cedric) was needed a couple of times. During Broken English Jam, Omar's guitar went way out of tune and he started playing the tuning pegs, until he got to some really gnarly, dissonant tuning, looped up a passage, and then switched out guitars. Cedric's mic had a feedback for several times (Dyslexicon e.g.). The extended sections for Trinkets and Jewel were both amazing. Besides the Noctourniquet songs (unfortunately they did not play the title track) they only played two songs from their former albums, but the closer Goliath got a face-lift and was performed in a very relaxed and jazzy version. |
