| Tech Notes | Grateful Dead July 31, 1982 Manor Downs Austin, Texas Brokedown House Production Video shot by Bonner & Friends Tape Provided by Stagger Lee Capture & Edit by awolfoutwest69 Original Synch & Author by Kevin Tobin NOTE: The original video has not been upgraded - Audio upgrade only. Set One: Alabama Getaway > Promised Land Candyman El Paso Bird Song Little Red Rooster Ramble on Rose It's All Over Now Brown Eyed Women > The Music Never Stopped Deal Set Two: Scarlet Begonias > Fire on the Mountain Estimated Prophet > Eyes of the World > Jam > Drums > Space > Uncle John's Band > Truckin' > Morning Dew > One More Saturday Night Encore Don't Ease Me In It was a hot Texas day, so the band didn't take the stage until well after sundown. The stage lights were kept down or off for much of the show so as not to cook the band. The resulting video was very dark, with only very bright reflections showing up. The brightness has been modulated to bring out what detail there was on the videotape, which also brings out the noise and grain that would usually be masked by a lower brightness level. The videographers only had two 1-hour batteries, so what you see here is all that was recorded that evening. The missing video segments have been patched with graphic filler to allow for the complete audio performance. Technically, this show shares the distinction of occurring on 'Jerry's 40th Birthday' with the following night, as most of the show took place after midnight. Jerry Garcia - Guitar Bob Weir - Guitar Brent Mydland - Keyboards Phil Lesh - Bass Bill Kreutzmann - Drums Mickey Hart - Drums Notes: Set 1 00:55:40-00:56:53 - Filled with Graphics Set 2 00:00:00-00:00:27 - Filled with Graphics 00:49:45-01:06:41 - Filled with Graphics 01:09:33-01:10:22 - Filled with Graphics 01:20:40-01:21:06 - Filled with Graphics 01:25:14-01:42:38 - Filled with Graphics Video Source: 2nd gen VHS > JVC SRV10U S-VHS > I.DEN IVT-7 Digital Time Base Corrector > s-video > ATI All-in-Wonder 128 > VirtualDub Sync mod w/ HuffYUV > AVIsynth 2.5.4 (w/ script to apply temporal noise reduction, crop video head-switching noise [bottom 16 lines], then center image).
