Notes One version of this show already circulates, an unknown cassette recording that's evidently been going around for a while (it's a .shn fileset, and when was the last time anybody used one of those?). Problem: it's *way* too fast, to the extent that it sounded ridiculous even to a naïve ear like my own.

Fortunately, the taper - while they didn't leave a name or recording specs - included almost the entirety of the Fitter Happier intro tape at the start of their recording. Because of this, it was very easy to work out the ratio to decrease the speed of the show so that it was close to real time - the answer is 0.913, so DarkAudacity was used to slow the speed by that much.

While I was there, I thought it would be worthwhile seeing if I could clean the sound up a bit, so I gave it a bit of a light EQ - increasing the highs so that the drums were a bit more crisp, and decreasing the mids to give Thom's vocals more room to breathe. It's still not a *great* tape, and others could probably do a better job of remastering it (I've kept the original files safe, so if you want to try send me a bell and I'll pass them on), but it's a much more enjoyable way to listen to a good show.
