This was recorded a week into the first leg of Sonic Youth's North American tour supporting "NYC Ghosts & Flowers".
This was also the first tour with Jim O'Rourke as a full-time member. The band plays the entire "nyc ghosts" LP
aside from "streamXsonik subway", and the rest of their set features classics from throughout their career.

The recording quality is fairly poor, I believe I was over on Thurston's side this night. I'd be surprised if
somebody else didn't tape this, but I've never seen a better audio recording so here you go...share if you have
another!

"Hoarfrost" had a lengthy noise intro during this tour and my tape flip misses a small bit of it. "100%" is also
cut, at a mildly amusing point. It was the final song.

Mats Gustafsson (who performed with openers Peter Brotzman & Ken Vandermark Ensemble) joins on "Lightnin'".
Unfortunately this was before they started stretching out "Lightnin'" to glorious lengths, but it's pretty nice.
