| Notes | Brett Lowman was the go-to guy for R.E.M. shows that nobody else had. I had come on the scene in the late 90's and by that time many of the 1st gen fans had faded into life and were no longer active in trading. Brett was a bridge to this generation. In 2004 he generously offered to let a very much poorer version of me stay at his house for a 2 night run in Chicago. He wasn't able to get one of the days off from work so as he left he told me to feel free to copy anything in his collection. I used some form of the nascent internet to deduce there was a grocery store nearby, as I hadn't brought any media with me. It was the only store around, but I had to get there. I literally ran the 1.5 miles praying that they had some cdr's. The clock was ticking. Lucky for us, they did, and even a pack of tapes. I spent every minute of that day ripping, burning and dubbing. The cdr's were these brightly colored things on both sides so they are very distinct. It gives me a warm & fuzzy when I come across them, and this is one. Notes: -Volume fluctuates during Auctioneer -Another show aquired during my stay with Mr. Lowmann. He and his wife had to work the day of the show, and he invited me to copy anything I wished to while they were gone. I found a grocery store nearby and bought all the tapes & cd-r's they had. The cd-r's are easy to spot in my collection because they are so garishly colored. Grade: B -Slightly brighter and thus better than average. I did say slightly. -It would appear that d1t1 had a dropout in the recording, so it was just made into two tracks. |
