| Notes | JEMS is proud to be able to partner with and present some of the choice recordings in the D & D archives. Some of these recordings have been around for years but none of the master tapes or safety copies in some cases have ever been digitized until now. Dave and Donn taped many shows in and around the Seattle area in the 70's and also were contemporaries of some of the JEMS members. Volume 17 is quite the rarity recorded by Dave capturing long running reggae band Third World at the beginning of their musical journey. This show is in support of their debut album but they do preview new songs from their yet to be released at the time second album. Third World is one of those oddities in reggae in that they made their bones internationally in England and America first before gaining widespread acceptance back at home unlike most reggae bands who make it big at home then gain an international following afterwards due to their more mainstream and eclectic mix of reggae with pop and R&B among many various influences. |
