Notes CoolSonics 228 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! My copy from that fine musicologist, GS - Hopefully he is doing well wherever he is in the world. ::: Corrections welcome ::: I have all the recordings of bands from this Festival this source made, some 1st gen. & some 2nd. The ones not commonly around I will try to finish mastering & upload to yr ears in the near future. While never a huge fan of horns (with some fdefintie exceptions), Here's a band that blew my mind when I heard the first album, courtesy of The Record Club Of America. Knocked me out completely. My friend Mr Heister used to rave about seeing this band live (which he did on a number of occasions). Sure wish I had... The Denver Post review of this set at Denver Pop said, "The Flock "took off with the freakiest sounds of the night", which says a lot if you remember that Frank Zappa & the Mothers went on 2 bands later... What we have here is pretty smokin' though reckon it's only half their set... but half is certainly better than none & it's from 1969, presumably only a couple of months after the release of their first album. Enjoy!
