Notes
Notes:
This features one of three known rare recordings of non-album Rush song Fancy Dancer. Interestingly, Geddy states that Fancy Dancer "will probably be on the next album", though of course that plan was ultimately scrapped. This show also features an early live version of Anthem, previously believed to be the earliest recording of the song, up until the October 24th Massey Hall tape was unearthed earlier this year. Still, this version of Anthem has the rawest energy and power in Geddy's performance that I've ever heard. Early pieces of By-Tor And The Snow Dog can be heard during the middle section of Working Man, as usual for 1974 shows with Neil. There is a brief cut near the beginning of Neil's drum solo due to the tape being flipped.

This show was recorded by Stan Gutowski of JEMS. Many live Rush fans have probably heard this show before, as the master tape was transferred and shared by the JEMS group back in 2008. Here is a new 2025 transfer of the same master tape done by Rush Archives. Being a transfer of the same tape, with both transfers having been done with good equipment, the difference may seem miniscule, though we felt it now has a bit more warmth and openness to the sound, with a slightly less harsh high-end. The tape was also given a fresh pressure pad, as the old one was deteriorating and fell right off. Special thanks to Erik of JEMS for agreeing to trade out the original tape to us, as part of our recent collaborations, in exchange for a few R.E.M. soundboard tapes we'd recently uncovered. Special thanks to Moonvoices for the speed adjustment, as always.

I wasn't originally planning to upload this, and had hoped for something fairly more significant to be released on this year's Rushmas (21/12), though sometimes things take longer to work out than expected. So here's something at least!

Enjoy the music and be grateful we are able hear these special recordings. If you have uncirculated tapes, please consider sharing them before they end up forever lost to time.
