Notes:
- All selections are from "The Freedom Suite." Recording for the Freedom Suite album took place on Feb. 11, 1958 and March 7, 1958, but "The Freedom Suite" was recorded exclusively on March 7;
- I've labeled the tracks with the IDs and take numbers given in the studio. Sonny's release has the suite as one track with no markers or other identification, so I'll leave a more exact nomenclature to the musicologists. What's called "Selection 1, Third Movement" here is identified as "Interlude" in Branford Marsalis's recording as well as David S. Ware's;
- However this was transferred from a reel, it's not seamless. For instance, Track 02 has a cut at ~1:14; and
- My source had two more tracks that I've excluded: take 1 of "Till There Was You" (included on a reissue); and "There Will Never Be Another You" (released on Max Roach's Deeds, Not Words).
