| Notes | Comments from Mossa: This comes direct from the original reel (taper PW) Here's the story to this, in the 80's I had my favourite record store in Munich. The owner was a music lover too, we started chatting on "this band & that band" and talked about concerts we've been to. He told me that he went to several very obscure shows aound his hometown Coburg and even recorded a few with his father's UHER Report reel machine, several of these recordings must be "stored somewhere in my cellar". Later we went to his house as I was curious on his reels. After searching for over an hour we found a storage box with totally damaged reel tapes - there they were!! 95 % were not useable any more, 3 or 4 survived this bad treatment. He allowed me to take the 2 best to my house and transfer them to see what's on these (nothing was labeled properly). So I did and couldn't believe my ears. This must be "Stud" - the follow-up band by former TASTE members John Wilson and Richie McCracken. I had the 2 Stud albums and immediately realized this was them somewhere live, taped by this guy. I transferred to cassette tape using my own UHER Reel tape machine. When calling my friend he told me that I'm right, he recorded "Stud" sometime on a cold winter night around 1970 or 1971. He might have some more info on the date somewhere (he remembered the venue right away) and started searching. A few days later he called me and told that he found a note in one of his schoolbooks (!!!) The next time we met he gave me another reel and this is it. Notes: - The vocals are on the low side, I have boosted them where possible. I have listened to a couple of other recordings and they all suffer from the same problem. Presumably there was a oroblem with the mic. Luckily, nobody ever went to see him to listen to his vocal expertise. Thanks to Joe B. Jones for his help with pitch correction. Thanks to PW and Mossa. edited and mastered SIRMick August 2020 |
