Tech Notes From the seeder:

Notes From My friend about the history of this show: This tape came into my possession about 15 years ago, back when this show was still uncirculated. The taper of the show contacted my friend,( how they knew one another is beyond me) and told him about the show he taped, then handed him his master. Copies of the master were made for a select few people, my copy was one of the last ones made from the master. I hope you enjoy!

My own personal notes:
This is one of the groups finest shows of the 1970 tour, one of their finest performances ever caught on tape, it's a spectacular show, full of incredible energy, everyone in the band is in excellent form.

The recording captures that feeling, and has an even distribution of all the instruments, the only problem the tape has is that there is some tape hiss in the left channel. It's a terrible shame that the tape is incomplete.

Besides splitting the audio into tracks, this tape has been totally uncomprimised. No equalization, noise reduction, or tape hiss removal has been applied to it, this is strictly the tape in all it's raw glory.

The debate rages on if this show is indeed dates April, 7th, 1970 or if it's from April, 8th, 1970, and if the show is actually from Raleigh, and not Charlotte, North Carolina.

Every tape lists it coming from Raleigh, the only thing that's always in question is the date of the performance.
On Zeppelinart.com, the show is listed as Charlotte, and he's posted this blurb about where he gets this information:

Venue Correction?
Don Hill in Charleston, SC sent me the ticket stub you see above. He attended the show and attests to the stub's authenticity. Robert Godwin's "The Press Reports" verifies that LZ was in Charlotte on 1970-04-07, moving Raleigh to (possibly) April 8. Other sources say Raleigh was April 6. Another question: Which show is the bootleg from? Charlotte or Raleigh? Plant does not mention a city during his "plantations" between songs. We may never know. In the meantime, until further verification, ZeppelinArt will list April 7 as Charlotte and include all "Raleigh" artwork. Thanks Don

Because the tape says " Raleigh, 4-7-70", the best thing to do is to call it by the name on the cassette.

I've included a scan of the tape for everyone to use instead of artwork.

Cheers!
