aud minor upgrade by hanno [2006-06-17] This aud tape is good for the era, not much crowd interference. I'd place it on the must hear list for those interested in tracking the evolution of how Dark Star was performed. This tape shows TC's organ is the 2rd dominant force with Garcia and Lesh. Its length is appropriate in that it doesn't overstay any single theme but evolves forward at a nice pace. Jim Powell on deadlists says that Phil teases the Feelin' Groovy theme in Dark Star. The TC review calls this a full out Feelin' Groovy not revisited until 6/24/70. In any case its a spritely Star jam that has a groovy theme to it. The SS and 11 maintain the bouce and the segue into King Bee is like a slow application of breaks on a car going down a mountain road. |
