sbd symons [2007-06-02]Sound quality a b - bass is muffled. Here's an accurate review of this performance from the LMA. "With so many excellent shows available in high quality from this tour, such a "fair" sounding sbd would have to boast unmissable versions of songs to recommend a download. Well, there is one stretch in the second set worth pursuing, otherwise, it's a fair recording of a typical '77 show. It starts off with high energy. A rowdy Minglewood and tight Deal show some promise. TLEO, LLR and Peggy-O are energy vacuums and the latter is brutally cut toward the end. Estimated is a bit of a yawner stand-alone version. BEW is a smiley, above average version, but hints at some beefy jams to come. Music is short but hot, Scarlet is fair, but Fire is a keeper. The Terrapin is ok, but gets clipped at the end. If there is anything worth saving here, it's the Playing>Drums>Wharf Rat>Playing stretch. The Playing is a great '77 version, but the Wharf Rat stands out to me as being one of the best of this era. The Playing reprise is a typical high energy closer to the gorgeous mixolydian jam of Wharf Rat." I concur - the PITB- Wharf Rat - PITB segment is worth a listen. |
