| Tech Notes | The clarity of the recording suggests that this was mastered from DAT. There is virtually no audience noise and background hiss is non-existent. The only minor on my recording is some static in Zoo Station and Satellite of love. "It's cold, it's raining" Bono shouts" but where the fuck did you rather wanna be on a Sunday? Welcome to ZOO TV!!!! one is dedicated to the people of Sarajevo, they performed a nice version of the song. "Writing a song, putting them on a record, but then you have to play the fucking thing!" and they play Zooropa for the first time, its heavily improvised. The performance of the song is a little rough and obviously needs some rehearsing. Bono cuts straight to the 4th verse "And I have no compass,...". After "Stay", Bono leads the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday" to The Edge. After singing part of Rain, Bono boasts, "Special surprise - Edge is gonna sing Lost Highway!" Edge looks at Bono completely bewildered. Bono, Adam and Larry sit down on the monitors and giggle while they watch Edge panic. Edge can hardly remember the chords, but manages to play and sing one verse of the Hank Williams classic. "With friends like these...."he comments the surprise. The satellite uplink to Sarajevo depicts how far the situation in Yugoslavia has deteoriated, and Bill Carter introduces a Bosnian mother who speaks to her son who is among the audience. After this Bono, states he's ashamed of being an European. The Sarajevo uplinks seemed to give the band extra energy, Bad is played very passionated and Bullet the blue sky is a very aggressive version. |
