| Tech Notes | 25-Feb-72 Auckland Going To Auckland (Tarantura, TCD-6) 4CD. Western Springs Stadium, Auckland, New Zealand, 25th February 1972. Disc 1 (45.51 mins.): 1. Immigrant Song (end only), 2. Heartbreaker, 3. Black Dog, 4. Since I?ve Been Loving You, 5. Stairway To Heaven, 6. That?s The Way, 7. Tangerine, 8. Bron-yr-Aur Stomp. Disc 2 (36.59 mins.): 1. Dazed And Confused (cut from the bow section onwards), 2. Whole Lotta Love, 3. Communication Breakdown. The famous Auckland concert finally crawls out of the horders vaults. Was it worth it? The sound is almost very good, an outdoor concert and it shows. It plays fast, about 3%. When will CD producers ever get it right. Are they all tone deaf and unable to judge what is the correct speed of a tape? It seems like it. Also why on earth does this release have to be on 4 CDs, when it is a 2 CD show? The show has been released on 4 CDs, with the unequalized tape 2 CDs, and the equalised (with false stereo) on another 2 CDs. This is another example of the callous regard that producers of Live Led Zeppelin releases have of the fans and collectors of this material. (Jules McTrainspotter Oct 2001). |
