| J-Card Comment | review form the net: "The Gaslight tape is an absolute 'must have' to any serious collection. It has been available as a quasi-legitimate European LP for many years, in several different packages. In 2001, this Rattlesnake title was released with the complete 2nd and 3rd Gaslight tape. The tracks have been EQ'd to create a wonderfully quiet and crisp sounding version. The hand colored photos create a beautiful package." " I've just got my brand new copy of the Rattlesnake Gaslight Tapes. This is a perfect sounding cd, as good as officials, such a clear voice, such a clear seperated guitar picking, no noise, no audience interference, exept on Hard Rain when you can hear some guy from the audience singing a few words with Bob, which I find very nice. The performance is so good to my ears too,(I like the early Dylan), one of the very best of the solo period I know,as good (although different) as "Bob Dylan in Concert"(63), or All Hallows Eve...(64).The Gaslight offer a mix of trad. folk songs, blues, and original Bob's songs, in an in-between "Bob Dylan" and "The Freewheelin'" way of singing, which makes it of great interest to me, and so nice to listen to. A very, very, very, enjoyable cd, one of the best Bob's boots ever..." ---------------------------------- unclekurty@unclekurty.com |
