The rockabilly trio Stray Cats formed on Long Island, N.Y. in 1979 but found their first big success in England, where they immigrated in the early '80s. Brian Setzer (Vocals, Guitar), Lee Rock [born Lee Drucher ] (Bass) and Slim Jim Phantom [born James McDonnell] (Drums) released a string of successful albums throughout the first part of the decade, becoming a fixture on early MTV with their unique look and retro sound. This show rocks! Two of their really big hits are here ("Rock This Town" and "Stray Cat Strut") as well as a couple of covers including "You Cant Hurry Love". The show is from an FM broadcast recorded on 11/27 and 11/28. The actual FM broadcast was not until 12/12/82. Thanks Jim |
