Midnight was celebrated with KISS-like pyrotechnics and a balloon drop. Page did not play on "America the Beautiful"; Oteil dedicated the song to New York because "they'd been through a lot this year." "Light Up or Leave Me Alone" featured Trey Anastasio and Mike Gordon of Phish, both playing Languedoc guitars (Mike on a new one recently built for him by Paul, and Trey on the older, butterscotch colored one of his). Phish lighting director Chris Kuroda manned the light board, and Phish sound- man Paul Languedoc served as front- of-house engineer. |
